Luciana Point of View:
I glared at Alessio and Lorenzo as I nervously waited for Vincenzo to answer his phone. I swear I am going to kill these two idiots for telling anyone that I was missing. Hopefully I can lie well enough for Vincenzo to believe me.
"Hello", He snapped, clearly agitated, " Who's this?"
"Hey big brother."
"Luciana? Where the hell have you been? I've been worried", He sighed.
I took a deep breath to prepare myself to lie. "We just got split up during rush hour. I am okay, so are Alessio and Lorenzo. Relax Vince."
"I'm glad everything is alright."
A few moments dragged by as we stayed silent. I didn't know what else to say. I didn't want to seem suspicious.
"We are going to have to talk later. The pizza just got here", I lied. The pizza had been almost demolished by the three of us. "If I don't get myself some food first, those two idiots will eat all of it before I can even get a slice."
"Okay Luciana", He chuckled," Stay safe."
"You too. Keep an eye on our brothers for me."
Before anything else could be said, I swiftly ended the awkward phone call. I had just gotten a new phone since mine had been lost after running from Mia's goons.
I lazily slouched on the sofa. I was exhausted and I was really starting to feel it.
I sighed loudly as I began to run my fingers through my hair. "If either of you pull that shit again, I swear I will drive any and all of your cars into the ocean."
Lorenzo picked up a piece of greasy pizza from the nearly empty box. "Did you really think I wouldn't tell him you were missing? If he found out I didn't tell him immediately, he would fly out here and strangle me."
He started to stuff his face with the pizza, the sauce sticking to the corner of his mouth. " Be grateful I didn't tell him about the Nicolas situation."
I rolled my eyes with a yawn. He was completely right. I had no room to argue or complain.
Alessio stood up from his chair, interrupting our sibling bickering. " Starting tomorrow, we need to come up with a plan. Those ass holes can't pull this shit again."
I sat up slightly, "Since when are you actually on top of this shit?"
Alessio shrugged, "Either the big apple has that effect on me, or I'm simply seeking revenge."
"Or the third option. You're acting like Vince", Lorenzo laughed while patting Alessio's shoulder.
"Bull shit", Alessio denied," I am nothing like that uptight goodie two shoes."
While those two were beginning their own argument, I snuck outside onto my balcony. The calm breeze was cool and refreshing. I sat on the floor with my back against the wall.
I took out my phone. I could feel my face heating up as I took the girl's phone number from my pocket. I typed her number into my phone and put her name into her contact.
'Hello. It's me, the girl you had to kick out of the diner this morning.'
I cringed as I reread the message I had just sent. How else was I going to let her know that it was me? It wasn't long before my phone dinged with her reply.
'I remember you. I didn't know if you were actually going to contact me or not. It's a good thing you messaged.'
I giggled to myself as I read her message. Even her texting is cute. I sat my phone next to me and covered my face with my hands. I cannot be obsessing over someone, that isn't me.
I picked up my phone to send a reply.
'Would you like to watch a movie or something one night?'
I nervously sighed as I pressed send. I felt like I was rushing into things. A feeling of uneasiness was lingering in my mind.
'I would love to go. They just came out with a new action movie that I have been dying to watch. But we can see something else if you don't like action.'
'I enjoy action movies. Let me know when you would like to go and we can plan something. By the way, call me Luci.'
'We will work something out. I have to get some sleep for my shift in the morning.'
I didn't message again, I didn't want to disrupt her sleep. It dawned on me that I had been sitting outside for quite some time. I got up from my semi uncomfortable spot and went inside.
The room was mostly quiet. Lorenzo was nowhere to be seen, and Alessio was standing at my kitchen sink... brushing his teeth?
"Why are you doing that in the kitchen sink?", I cringed just thinking about how I now needed to disinfect it.
He spat the tooth paste from his mouth. "What, brushing my teeth?"
"Yes. Why are you doing that out here and not in the bathroom?"
"Lorenzo is in the shower." He went back to brushing.
I laid on the couch, throwing my legs over the arm. "Make sure all your spit is rinsed."
I had closed my eyes for a moment, imagining the movie date I was going to be going on. When I opened them, Alessio was lingering over me, looking at my face.
"What?", I snapped.
"Something is up with you", He shook his head and took a seat next to me, "I just haven't figured it out yet."
"I'm not a nimrod like the rest of the family." I chuckled at my own remark.
Alessio snapped his fingers and had a proud smile on his face. "I've got it."
"Now you must tell me what you believe is different about me", I inquired and curiously sat up.
"You are happy."
My jaw dropped slightly. "How the hell...."
"Since we first met, you've never seemed happy at all", He smiled proudly," But since you walked inside, you're happy. It's all over your face."
"I have a date", I whispered so Lorenzo wouldn't hear. I had a goofy grin as well.
He gasped. "No way, when?"
"I don't know yet. Depends on her work schedule."
Alessio jumped up from the sofa," We are going to go shopping before your date." His voice was slightly louder than I hoped.
"Who the fuck is going on a date?" Lorenzo questioned from the doorway of my bathroom, his hair still dripping wet from the shower.
