Luciana Point of View:
Once Nicolas was gone, Cora grabbed my hair forcing me to look into her eyes. "All your pathetic father could talk about was how much he wanted to have a bond with you", She ranted.
Some of her spit flew out of her mouth, hitting me in the face. "But you are too fucking selfish to see that."
In return, I spit in her face. I smirked watching the disgust on her face. The emotion was practically radiating off of her. However, it soon faded and rage quickly took its place.
"You really are a fucking bitch", She roared getting in my face.
Her hand left my head and I didn't have to look at her anymore. She grasped my arm, making sure to dig her long nails into my knife wound. I harshly bit my tongue, forcing myself to stay silent.
Cora's phone vibrated in her pocket and she took it out to read it. "Looks like your new home is ready", She snickered, a big smirk on her face.
Her grip on my arm got tighter, and she started to walk in the direction that Mia had gone. It took all of my strength to not get dragged along the cement.
I stopped paying attention to how far we had gone or where we were. But I was soon released from Cora's grasp and was left to fall onto the concrete.
I peered up and most of the room was cement. Everything but the thin pillow like mattress and the very small barred window. I went to turn around and as I did the metal door was slammed shut.
I jumped up from the ground and rushed to it. I tried to jiggle the door knob with my bound hands but the door was locked. I sighed, knowing I needed to get out of here soon before my family did something idiotic to rescue me.
The zip ties didn't feel that strong. I went to the window. When I stood on my tip toes, my hands could reach the small ledge. I used the corner from the ledge and started to saw the zip tie against it.
While trying to break my restraints, a childhood memory invaded my head.
Flash back:
I was only three years old. Me and three of my brothers were playing a game, a superhero game. Leo and I were the heroes while Marcello and Lorenzo were the villains.
I was never as fast as Leo, I would always get caught first and I would need to be rescued.
"You will never see your friend again", Marcello laughed while I was sitting on the bed behind him, "Unless you tell us where the treasure is."
"I will never tell you... evil villains", I replied.
The memory of that day is so vivid. The only thing that was better than that game was when Vince would play with us. He would rarely join and would use excuse after excuse to get out of it.
Usually after dinner, Mama would go to the library to read and relax. One night I followed behind her. I had gotten up on the sofa next to her. She knew something was bothering me.
"Is everything alright honey?"She wrapped her arm around me," You never come in here with me."
"Mama, I don't think Vincey likes me anymore.", I muttered, tears threatening to escape my eyes.
"Why do you think that?", She asked.
"He never plays anymore.... And I never see him anymore", I cried, a few tears running down my cheeks.
"I know he would love to spend all day playing with you, but he's got to go to school", She explained.
"Are you sure he doesn't hate me?"I asked, looking for reassurance.
"I promise he doesn't".
"But do you pinky promise he doesn't?"
She smiled," I promise."
Flashback over.
I kept sawing at the plastic zip ties but they weren't budging. I stopped trying to break them when I heard footsteps approaching the door. I moved away from the window.
The door creaked open loudly, making the noise bounce off the cement walls. Mia walked inside with a knife in her hands. She kept twirling the knife around.
"You know I tried to get you that night at the party", She taunted, walking towards me.
"I didn't know for sure if you would be there... but there you were, using me to hide from your brothers"
She kept walking towards me until my back was pressed against the wall. "Then those hawks of brothers of yours just had to intervene and ruin everything", She rambled as she pressed the blade against my face.
I had no reaction and she noticed. Mia pressed the knife harder against my skin. I winced as I felt my blood run down my jaw.
"I am going to kill you...", I muttered.
"What was that?", She demanded.
"I said I am going to kill you", I screamed, "Did you hear me that time."
She scoffed," Are you really in the position to make threats.-"
I interrupted and shoved her back some, "I wasn't finished. I am going to kill you, then your mother, and finally those backstabbing brothers of yours."
She chuckled and got into my face, "You're funny." She pressed the knife against my throat, "Make those threats again I dare you."
I didn't move or speak.
"Where did all that confidence go?"She smirked," Sorry to cut this short but I have to go."
She removed the knife from my throat and left. Some time went by before the door was opened again. This time, it wasn't Mia. It was Cora and two men.
"What's with the long face sweetie, not excited to see me?"She said with a sadistic smirk.
I glared at her and stayed silent. It seemed to make Mia angry when I didn't reply, time to see if it is a genetic trait. It took a moment before I could see the frustration and rage building inside her.
"Don't' want to talk", She pouted, "That's fine, we can skip the chit chat, and just get to business." Cora looked at the two men who were standing on either side of the door.
"Do what I told you... but try to avoid the face", She explained before going to sit in the corner on a wooden chair.
The men came towards me. There wasn't much I could do with my hands still bound. One undid the restraints and immediately grabbed my wrists. He pulled them behind me. The way he held me, I couldn't bend my arms.
The other started to land hit after hit on my torso, after the first two I could help but to wince... then cry out. After a few minutes, I had to harshly bite my tongue to stop a scream. I heard a crack after that last hit.
"Enough", Cora commanded.
The man let go of me and I fell to my knees. I didn't notice Cora was in front of me until she grabbed my jaw and forced me to look into her eyes.
"Next time you want to be stubborn... remember this, I will not tell them to stop until you are begging", She explained.
She let go of my jaw and began to walk out of the room. When she was in the doorway, she turned to me. "By any chance do you know where Alexander may be?"
I scoffed," Even if I did... I wouldn't fuck tell you."
She stormed off, shutting the door behind her. It took me a few moments to realize her mistake. I didn't hear the door lock.
