CHAPTER 6: ESCAPE

Twens POV

The person that came in after Jamie looked weird, they had round things on their chest. They had long hair like me so that wasn't weird, but they were looking at me and Jamie weird.

"W-Who you?"

Jamie turns to me and says, "This is zero she is going to help us."

Jamie knows them? "Zero? What is it? It different."

"I'll explain later Twen right now we have to go."

"Go?"

"Yes, go...we're finally leaving Twen. We're going to be free and be a family."

I look up at Jamie with wide eyes, tears forming in my eyes. We're finally leaving we're going to live together under the sun and be a happy family. I smile at Jamie after hearing his news and can hear him smile back at me.

"Let's go," says Jamie. Zero nods her head at Jamie and turns around to face the door, I let go of Jamie and I can vaguely see him turn around to face the door as well.

"I'll go out first and then you follow right after Twen."

I can hear Jamie walk to the door and crack it open, I can see a very dim light seep through; he slightly sticks his head out and after a second, he walks out. He looks to the right and to the left and turns around.

"Okay, come on Twen."

I do as Jamie says and step out of the cell, also looking to my sides even though I can't see what's in front of me. I can feel Zero step out of my cell and close the door. Jamie grabs a hold of my hand and says, "Where do we go?"

Zero answers and says, "This way."

We start walking and take a right from my cell, we're walking towards the direction of the bathroom.

"There's an exit this way?" Asks Jamie.

"Yes."

I follow silently unable to see where I am going, I let go of Jamie's hand and grabbed a hold of his other hand. I'm next to the wall and place my hand on it feeling for the markers on the wall. This way I will have some idea where we are going.

As we continue walking, the wall comes to an end, and we take a left. Now I know for sure we're headed towards the direction of the bathrooms, having walked this direction all my life I know where I'm going without the help of the markers.

We walk down the hall a bit further and like I guessed we reach the bathroom but instead of continuing further we stop.

"There's someone in there." Jamie and Zero move up against the wall and they both take turns peaking into the bathroom. The bathroom door is always left open when someone is using it and it's a wide opening.

"It's one of Michaels's rogues, he's probably brought someone to get cleaned for later today," says Jamie.

"Hurry the fuck up." I hear the rogue shout followed by a bang against the wall.

"Need help him," I whisper.

I can feel them staring at me and hear Jamie sigh. "I know you want to help him Twen, I do too, but we can't help him if we get caught. Once we're out of here we will come back for everyone."

"I think it's time to stop talking and try to cross as quietly as possible," says Zero.

"You're right we should hurry before they come out. You go first and I'll send Twen after you and then I'll go."

I can feel Zero leave our side, but I don't hear anything when Zero does, it's almost like Zero glided up from the ground to the other side of the door opening. Jamie pulls me so I'm in front of him and whispers in my ear. "Okay, Twen as quiet as you possibly can and quickly, walk past the door."
