Twen's POV
I'm walking through a thick forest, fog covering the forest floor. I can't see anything in the distance but continue walking forward. What am I doing outside, and how did I get here? I look around at my surroundings and then suddenly hear a twig snap. I whipped my head in its direction and could hear growling.
I take off in a sprint, bobbing and weaving through the forest. I could hear something chasing after me, and after a little while, I ran through a blinding white light. I opened my eyes and found myself in a clearing. I looked behind me but could not see or hear what was chasing me, and when I looked back, someone was standing at a distance with their back facing me.
"Hello?" The person turned their head to the side and then turned themselves around. "Jamie?" I whispered. I squinted my eyes and realized that it was him. "Jamie!" I ran as fast as I could to Jamie and threw myself at him, hugging him with all my strength. "I thought you were dead," I cried. I rubbed my face on his chest and smiled that he was here with me.
He wouldn't talk, which I found strange, but then he coughed, and I felt like my chest and arms were wet. I let go of him, looked down at my body, and saw that I was covered in blood. My heart started pounding. I looked up, and Jamie was covered in blood; I gasped and stepped back as blood came out of his mouth, and a huge gaping hole was where his chest used to be.
"Jamie," I whispered, lifting my trembling hand to touch him. "How could you, Twen...how could you leave me." I shook my head no as more tears ran down my cheeks. He then suddenly tackled me to the ground and was inches away from my face as he yelled at me, droplets of blood falling on my face. "HOW COULD YOU LEAVE US...HOW COULD YOU FORGET ABOUT US."
"No...I didn't," I cried out. "LIAR," he shouted as he raised his arm in the air, balled his hand in a fist, and then brought it down towards me. I flinched and closed my eyes.
I jumped up and shouted Jamie's name as I gasped for air. Tears trickled down my cheeks, my body felt sticky from the sweat, and my clothes felt damp. I frantically looked at my surroundings and noticed I was in my room and bed. I lifted my hands to my face and cried some more.
"Who's Jamie?" I gasped and jumped as I lifted my head and saw Liam with a tray of food at the entrance of my room. I let out a shaky breath. "W-What are you doing here," I asked as I wiped the tears from my face.
"I made you breakfast. I was going to leave it on your bedside table so when you woke up; you could eat." Liam entered the room, put the tray down, and sat at the bed's end. "You fell asleep on your way back from town yesterday, so I carried you to your room and tucked you in."
I sighed. "Thank you."
"...."
"W-Who's Jamie?" I looked up at him as I interlocked my hands with each other and rubbed them together. "I don't mean to pry, but I've heard you say that name before...on multiple occasions." I furrowed my brows. "You've said that name in your sleep almost every night...I sometimes come in to check on you," he said, shifting his eyes to the side and then back to me. "You typically say that name when you're having a nightmare."
Nightmare? But I don't dream anymore.
"...is he...someone that hurt you in the bad place?"
"No," I say with my brows furrowed. "He...." I sighed as my breathing picked up. "He's...." I shook my head no. "It's too hard...to talk about," I told him as a tear rolled down my cheek.
"Okay, I understand, I'm sorry." He got up from the bed and had a sad smile on his face. "Don't forget to eat," he said, turning around and heading for the door. "Liam." He turned around when I called out to him, which seemed to have changed his mood slightly. "C-Can we talk later?"
