Twen's POV

Liam said we were going to the cellars, but I had no idea where that was. I followed him quietly as we walked farther and farther away from the pack house. At first, I thought we would head somewhere inside the packhouse, perhaps underground. Instead, we walked toward the training grounds.

We didn't walk through the training grounds but walked around it. We walked until we reached the end of what was considered the training grounds and continued walking past it. A few feet away, hidden behind the tall trees, was a small building. No one would notice it unless they knew where they were going. It was isolated from everything and was quite a long way from the packhouse. The Alpha, Beta, the angry man, and other patrol members stood outside the building.

They heard us coming, so they all looked over in our direction. The Alpha took a step forward, and we stopped before him. "Thank you for doing this," he said as he looked at me. I nodded my head, not knowing what to say. I didn't want to do this, but if it meant getting answers faster, I'd do it. However, everything in me was yelling, telling me not to go inside that building. I found myself squeezing Liam's hand because of this.

"It'll be alright; I'm here with you," he assured.

"...and so am I."

I tried calming my breathing as it was time to enter the cellars. The Alpha and Beta went in first; the angry man and patrol members followed behind them, and we were last to enter. Liam opened the door and revealed a small room that looked to be used as storage. In the center of the room, some stairs led underground. Liam walked up to it first, then turned around and offered his hand to me. I hesitated to grab it but eventually did. It was pitch black walking down the stairs; my heart began to thump out of my chest as it reminded me of the bad place. My breathing became ragged. I wanted to turn around and get out of that place, but I kept going.

We reached the bottom of the stairs and arrived in another larger room. It was not as dark as the stairs but was not lit like I would like it to be. I moved closer to Liam and held onto his arm, hugging it with all my might. We started walking and entered a corridor with many rooms; the doors were made of silver. Now, it really reminded me of the bad place. I shoved my face into Liam's arm and closed my eyes. I then felt him wrap his arms around me. I felt comfort in his arms, but not enough to rid me of the fear I was feeling.

We eventually stopped; I opened my eyes and looked around. We had stopped in front of a door far from the entrance. One of the patrol members opened the door, and when he did, there was a stench of blood that filled the room. Everyone went inside individually, except for two patrol members who stood on each side of the door. We went in last; the room was dimly lit, and the rogue was at the center of the room. There were silver cuffs attached to his wrists that connected to the ceiling. He looked to be unconscious; his head hung down, and his body leaned to the side, his body being held up by the cuffs.

I couldn't recognize his scent because of the amount of blood there was, and he was completely covered in blood. One of the patrol members lifted the rogue's head, showing me his face, but...I couldn't tell who it was. "I...I don't know."

"It's okay, just concentrate, really look at him."

"I won't be able to recognize him. It was too dark in the bad place to really look at someone's face. I recognized them through their scent, and there's too much blood for me to smell his scent."

"Okay, how about we hose him down and move him to another room," suggested Liam. The Alpha agreed. We left the room, walked down the dark hallway again, and waited near the stairs.

"I need to apologize to you once again, Twen." I looked over at him, confused. "I didn't want you coming here because I thought you couldn't handle it. I underestimated you. There was so much blood, and you handled it well."
