Liam's POV
I stand outside the room where my mate is being treated, staring through the now open blinds. I'm surrounded by my father, uncle Rowan, and Lucas, not listening to what they're saying. All I can focus on is my mate who is receiving medical attention from our pack doctor. He seems calmer now that we're not in his presence, but still seaming...afraid.
"Liam, are you listening?" Asks my father pulling me from my thoughts.
I turn to look at him and respond, "Yes, father."
"Are you sure he's your mate my boy?" Asks uncle Rowan.
"I'm not sure."
"Then why are you saying that he is?" Asks Lucas.
I turn to look at my tiny mate once again.
"It's hard to explain, but when I look at him or when I'm near him, I feel a warmth in my chest that spreads throughout my body. A sort of tingle that I can feel on my skin and deep in my bones."
"I have a want to be near him, protect him, and never part from him. He...smells good." I turn back and look at my father, uncle, and best friend.
Uncle Rowan clears his throat, "Well, that does sound like the mate pull."
"Why do you say you're not sure he's your mate if this is what you're feeling?" Asks my father.
"It's faint. I can feel this pull towards him, but it's barely there. It's strong enough for me to feel but hardly there."
"That's very strange, maybe the doctor will know something?"
This time we all turn and look through the window to stare at my mate and the doctor, waiting for her to come out.
Twen's POV
The big scary men had left the room, I feel like I've calmed down a little, but I'm still scared. I don't know where I am, who these people are, or if they're going to hurt me or not. One of them already has. I don't trust them.
However, for some reason, the young man that entered the room last gave me a sense of calmness, warmth, and a weird feeling in my stomach. It was a very light feeling, but it was still there. Still, even though I feel this when I look at him, I can't help but be afraid of him.
When they all left the room, another person walked in, it was a woman. I know because she had things on her chest just like Zero. I had tensed back up when I heard the door open, but immediately relaxed when I saw her walk in.
She had been talking to me and asking me questions, but I couldn't concentrate on what she was saying because I felt like someone was watching me.
The woman had walked to the wall when she walked into the room. She opened something that revealed a clear wall behind it, I could see the scary men through the wall and the young man. It was his eyes that I could feel on me and when he wasn't looking, I couldn't help but glance at him as well.
The woman had pulled a chair next to the bed, which made me turn to look at her.
"Do you mind if I look at your arm?"
I look down at my arm and see the blood that had gushed out earlier, it's dry now. I give her a nod, allowing her to touch me. When I do, she pulls out a soft-looking paper and some water, she pours the water onto the paper and then wipes my arm.
I immediately cover my nose because of the burning smell the water gave off. I don't think it's water. The woman looks up at me and smiles.
"Yea, rubbing alcohol isn't the most pleasant of smells, especially for us and our sensitive noses. I don't get to use it as much, since we heal and all, but we do have humans in our pack, so, I do sometimes."
