April 2014

While assigned mandatory leave from all things s.h.i.e.l.d. I've been catching up on a few things, specifically, wedding-related things. And today I was picking out, arguably, the most important part... the dress! Unfortunately, my mom was not able to make it so Nat was my sole guide to the right dress.

"So what are you thinking," Natasha asked as she drove us to the dress shop, "any specific styles? Shapes? Lace? No Lace? What are we looking for?" I let out a heavy sigh.

"I honestly have no idea what I want," I chuckled nervously.

"Well my job just got a lot harder," Nat groaned. I offered an apologetic smile as we pulled into the parking lot. "Not even an idea?" She seemed to be in disbelief.

"Only that I want it to be white," I said stepping out of the car.

"Did you not fantasize about this as a kid?" Nat asked truly astonished.

"Well sure, I always knew where I wanted it to be and what the color scheme was going to be, stuff like that."

"Hm," she let out a short laugh, "I think it's funny that me, the world-class assassin, has every detail planned out. But you miss former hopeless romantic couldn't be bothered to know what kind of dress she wants."

"You have a dream wedding?" I asked as we pushed through the doors into the shop, amused at the thought.

"Hey," Nat held up a finger just before we stopped at the front desk, "that's not the point right now." I threw my hands up backing off.

"Hello Ladies," a stylish brunette woman chimed as she made her way toward us, "how can I help you today?"

"We are looking for a dress," Natasha smiled and patted me on the shoulder, "for this ones big day." I smiled nervously.

"Oh, how exciting!" The woman made her way to the desk and grabbed a clipboard. "Let's start picking some out."

Finding the right dress was harder than I had thought it would be. They were all either too poofy, too tight, showed too much, or not enough, it was never-ending. I think Natasha was getting frustrated with my picky taste in dresses. And I was starting to get hangry, which is never good.

"What do you think about this one," Nat asked as I stepped out of the dressing room with yet another dress on.

"I don't know," I sighed.

"(Y/N)! I'm gonna need more feedback than I don't know, okay," she whined.

"I guess it just doesn't feel like me, you know," I sighed, "too fancy or something." To be honest, it fits wrong in all the wrong places, and it was itchy.

"Okay," Nat sighed rubbing her hands over her face, "go try on a few more, then I'm done for the day." I turned to go try on the next dress hoping it would be 'the one'.

~~~~~~~
"How many more?" Nat groaned as I rejected yet another dress.
"Just one," I sighed equally annoyed. I slipped out of the dress I was currently in, hanging it up nicely before unzipping the last one. Soon I was stepping into the dress and pulling the skirt up.
"Ooo," I exclaimed. Finally I actually liked how the skirt fit! That was a first.
"Is that a good 'ooo'?" Natasha asked from outside the dressing room. "Common (y/n) if its good I want to see it."
"Oh its good alright," I replied and stepped out into the main area. Natashas face fell in disbelief. "You like it?" I twirled around.
"(Y/n)," she whispered, "in my opinion it's perfect."
"You think?" I asked looking in the mirror. It was pretty good wasn't it? "I'd honestly have to agree."
"What? (Y/n)? Liking a dress?" Nat joked, "I don't believe it!"
"Oh shut up," I waved her off. I inspected my reflection hard taking apart every detail of the dress. I genuinely couldn't find any thing wrong. It fit in all the right places, and it clicked.
"Is it the one?" Natasha asked breaking the silence.
"I think it might just be," I turned around as a smile spread across my face. "Yeah, this... this is the one!" I nodded to Nat.
"FINALLY!" Her fists shot up in victory.
"Hey ladies," the brunette woman entered the room, "did any of the dresses speak to you today?" I smiled and nodded excitedly.
"I think we found the one," I grabbed the skirt and spun around.
"Oh great!" She clapped her hands together and smiled. "Lets get you checked out then, shall we?"
"Please!"
*A/N: Sorry for the short chapter, possibly boring, chapter. I've just sort of ran out of inspiration at the moment. However I promise some exciting chapters are coming soon! Thank y'all for reading and voting. Wishing everyone well.
