Mid November

It had been a couple of weeks since the incident in the rain, and I had grown to be great friends with Steve.
But I longed for it to be more.

I smiled hopelessly as Steve walked away. I turned around to see Natasha, "Hey, (y/n) what's wrong."

"Nothing, but could I tell you something important?" I asked and she nodded.

"Let's go to my room, you never know who's gonna eavesdrop in this place," she said guessing what I wanted to tell her.

"So what do you want to tell me?" She asked as we walked into her room.

"I..I um... I really..... really like Steve." I answered nervously. She didn't look shocked.

"Mhm," Nat nodded.

"You knew! Is it that obvious." I facepalmed.

"To everyone but Steve," she smiled like she had an idea.

"Do you think I have a chance?" I begged for an answer though not wanting to know.

"Have you seen the way he looks at you?" She raised an eyebrow.

"Are you saying..." Realization spread across my face, "he likes me?"

"Uh yeah, do I have to spell it out for you?" She said laughing.

"No that's ok," I laughed excitedly and hopeful.

Meanwhile...
Steves POV-

"Hey Cap," Tony said patting me on the shoulder. I was looking at a picture of (y/n) petting a puppy we met on a run. "What do we have here?" Tony took the phone.

"Tony give that back," I said.

"Does Rogers have a crush on (y/n)? Please say yes." Tony plead.

"What if I did? What would you do?" I said defensively. Tony smirked.

"I'd give you advice because that is what friends do." I relaxed a little.

"Yes, Tony. I like (y/n). A lot." I admitted shyly. "But she doesn't like me like that, I would know." I sighed in defeat.

"Steve you would be surprised," Tony let his words set in. "Have you seen the way she looks at you?"

"She does? She likes me? You're sure? you're not messing with me?" I smiled as Tony nodded. "I think I'm gonna need that advice you were talking about."

"You're going to ask her to dinner at her favorite nice place. Then after you're gonna walk to a park with a fountain and tell her your feelings or just kiss her. Ok." Tony spouted out, I nodded with a huge smile.

The next day
Your POV-

Steve and I were on a run. I had finally gotten used to his pace now, and he seemed really awkward more than usual. When y'all finished Steve got more nervous and shaky.

"Did I push you too hard? Your shaking." I asked jokingly as he looked down at his hands.

"Oh, no I'm fine." He lied.

"Right."

We got in my car and drove to his apartment to drop him off. I pulled up to the apartment building but Steve didn't get out just yet. Then he turned to me.

"(Y/n), would you like to go to dinner at (f/p) tomorrow at 8:30, with me?" He blurted out, blushing really bad.

Is this what I think it is, a date? If so I think I'm gonna die right here.

"Yes, I'd like that," you accepted blushing just as much.

"Ok, see you then bye," he said getting out of the car, you just waved in awe.

The next day

It was 5 o'clock and I didn't have anything to wear so I called Natasha thinking she would definitely have something. She told me to come over and to leave it to her.

I snuck up the miles of stairs, not wanting to run into Steve. I finally got to Nat's room and she had dresses everywhere. I tried on about 5 dresses then I stumbled across a royal blue long-sleeved dress that was perfect.

We both agreed that this was the one. I thanked Natasha for letting me borrow the dress then snuck back down the stairs.

When I got back home it was 6:00 and I decided to take a shower then get ready.

I curled my hair, then did my make up. I didn't do anything crazy just the basics. Now it was 7:30, I had one hour. I waited to put on your dress and shoes until around 8 o'clock.

It was almost 8:30 and I was ready but so nervous I was trembling. I looked at my twitching hands willing them to stop, they refused.

*Knock knock* I jumped up and opened the door to see Steve. He was in a teal button-up shirt with black pants.

"My lady," he gestured for me to go first, like always. "How was your day?" He asked looking down at my shaking hands.

"It was good, quiet, but good," I answered hiding your hands. "And you?" I looked up at him while pressing the elevator button.

"My day was good. Kinda slow though." He sighed, the small talk seemed to kill him, I could tell he had something on his mind. The elevator ride was silent because both of us were too afraid to talk.

We got onto his motorcycle after I put on the helmet. We were minutes away from something we had both been waiting for. Then we got to the restaurant and were seated at a booth.

We ordered and hung out. There was mostly small talk and a couple of jokes that either he or I used to relax a bit, unsuccessfully. Then he took the check and he guided me to a nearby park.

"(Y/n)?" He said stopping and looking down at me smiling. "I need to tell you something important." He grabbed my embarrassingly clammy hands in his and looked at them.

"Okay?" I smiled.

"(Y/n), since I met you I have realized you brighten up my life." He paused taking in a deep breath, "And I like you a lot and, if you want, I thought we could start seeing each other." He finished, and my eyes widened in disbelief.

"Oh Steve," I hugged him around the neck and he hugged my waist. "I'd like that," I said looking into his bright blue eyes then I kissed him on the cheek, both blushing.

He took my hand interlocking our fingers and he took me home.

"Good night Steve," I said looking up at him not wanting him to go but knowing he couldn't stay.

"Good night (y/n)," he said leaning down to kiss my forehead. He looked at me one last time then walked away. He was mine and I was his, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
