mirror, mirror, on the wall
who's the cruelest of them all?
it's sink or swim in clustered din
as theater lights begin to dim
mirror, mirror, on the wall
who's the fairest of them all?
it's question one of questionnaire
as fragile minds begin to tear
mirror, mirror, on the wall
who's the dead among them all?
they lost the way too slow to fall
if playwright's hand moves far too fast
then trauma's left in half-full mast
deadened now and left to rot
the silence is what kills the heart
as medals glint in midday sun
with task complete and checklist done
but toll was high and price was paid
cloth of pain in time was made
mirror, mirror, on the wall
who's the cruelest of them all?
they lost their mind, but now you'll find
they found their path while blind
mirror, mirror, on the wall
who's the cruelest of them all?
as i rock the chair here and there
blood runs cold and out goes air
