The family sat down to a takeaway. Corey took out the plates and accidentally clanged together which is more than enough to make your teeth gritter. Kerry took out the contents and carefully set them on the kitchen benchtop. The smell of the food has filled the air with the rich, moist grease coming from it. As they all sat down, Kate decided to open a bottle of ketchup and squirted the crap out of it. Sauce landed on the ceiling, splatted on the walls and started leaking down on the sides. There were puddles of sauce on the table, some of which covered an entire fruit bowl and has even sneaked into the inner parts of the apples and pears, then, they had all blended in. Corey stood up and stumbled over to the workbench to get a cloth. Kerry took the ketchup from Kate and then: "WAHHHHHHHHHHHH!" She cried out screaming.
Corey cleaned up the rest of the table and the walls. Then, he sat back down again and consumed the rest of his meal.
After dinner, they all cleaned up the leftovers and washed up all the dishes. The suds and bubbles floated up into the air and popped, one after another.
Kate stood there laughing at the flying bubbles.
"BOBBLES! BOBBLES!" She exclaimed excitedly.
"Come on Kate, let's get your pajamas on." Kerry said and took Kate by the hand. "WAHHHHHHH!" Kate cried and ran over to her daddy. "Come here darling!" Kerry added, slowly approaching her. "WAHHHHHHHH! WAHHHHHHHH!" She cried even louder, desperate to escape. "Do you want me to change her?" Corey suggested. "It's okay, I have her now." Kerry replied as she lifted Kate into her arms.
"WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! DADDY!!!!" Kate screamed, disappearing upstairs with her mummy.
Corey smiled to himself as he finished up the remaining dishes.
"Time to read the paper!" he talked to himself as he took the paper with him and got up on the sofa. And then, when he flicked the first few pages, this popped up:
LOCAL BOY DISAPPEARS
The family and friends of Max (surname withheld) are concerned with the fact that he has not returned home, even after school. After talks with the police force, many searches have been undertaken across the community. It is now believed he may have crossed into unknown territory without a warning or trace and leaders are now urging for unity on all neighborhoods to help out and try to bring him home.
As the subject continued, a local youth spokeswoman, Catriona addressed the recent event that shapes society.
"We must search every single square meter across this land. He could be literally anywhere. I strongly advise controlled units to step up patrol across the districts." she spoke in her speech.
Corey ignored the rest of the report and moved on to another page. As he did, pieces of his youth days were beginning to piece again. Then... he threw the paper down... and froze in his place. He went over to the window and looked out. The weather was stormy. Very stormy. Corey then realizes who is associated with storms. "The lady..." Corey whispered nervously. "...is... back." he added.
Then, the paper started to turn it's pages all by itself. Corey was stunned. They were flipping back between rapidly, stopping him from reading the articles. Not that he was interested. Not right now. Then, the next thing he realized was it was slowing down a bit. Corey took a small step forward and he stopped. There was a creepy photo. Of a public pathway. At night. Corey looked through the picture to see what was in the caption. And... there she was.
The woman was sticking out from behind the bushes at the back of the scene, her eyes were completely lifeless. Corey's heart was beating drastically. Then, her eyes turned red and looked straight at him, like she can see him directly through a newspaper, despite how ridiculous this may sound.
Suddenly, she started laughing horribly in his ears. "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Corey cried in pain as he covered his ears with his hands and landed on the floor on his knees. "GET OFF MY HEAD!" He shrieked painfully. The laughter was incredibly horrendous. It was like an elephant laughing, but 10 times worse.
Kerry rushed in to the living room. "What's going on?" she asked.
Corey slowly pulled his hands out of his ears, preparing to put them back in case she'd start laughing again. But it was silence. Corey was literally shaking with fear, his arms and legs vibrating like a game controller, almost running out of batteries.
"are you ok?" Kerry asked.
"Yes. I'm... I'm ok... Just tired, you know..." Corey replied to his wife.
"Maybe you should get an early night. It might help you." Kerry suggested.
"yeah.. I'll... get myself a hot drink. You fancy a coffee?" Corey offered.
"oh... yes please." Kerry replied as she went over and kissed him on the forehead.
"I'll bring it upstairs." Corey added and got up off the sofa. He strolled to the kitchen to grab the necessities.
When Corey finished making the drinks, he cleaned up the equipment on the desktop and put them away in their correct cupboards. He went over to the door to open it then he returned to the table to get the drinks. As he picked them up, he went back to the doorway, but suspiciously, the door was closed again. So Corey set the drinks down again and pulled it open. He finally managed to do it. He walked up stairs carefully with the coffee in his hands, proceeding with caution as he reached the top of the staircase. He took the door handle by the elbow and slowly made the door open. The steam from the drinks arised from the cups as he went over to the bed. He handed the coffee to Kerry and set his on the side desk next to his side of the bed.
