Chapter 4

"Daddy?" 

Newt furrows his brows in confusion looking at the tear stained cheek girl. "What? Whats wrong ?" The little girl looks up at him and hugs him tightly. Newt is quite confused but hugs her back as Thomas wakes up and comes to sit beside them. "What happened?" Thomas asks in confusion. "She had a nightmare so I came over to comfort her" Thomas nods in understanding as Cassenova hugs Newt tighter. 

"Your my daddy. I love you daddy" Both Thomas and Newt look at the little girl in Newt's arms, with wide eyes in shock. "What? Me? " The girl giggles . "Yes you and Tommyyyy" . "Wait me too? How is that possible?" Thomas and Newt share looks of confusion between eachother.  The girl shrugs . A few tears fall down her cheeks when she thinks about the nightmare again. Newt and Thomas silently agree to talk about all this tomorrow.

"Whats wrong sweetie?" . Newt rubs her back to calm her down.

"The dream daddy it was scary and sad. It was real, it all happened" They both look at her with sympathy and Thomas rubs the girl's arm, soothingly.

"That may be true but it's over now. And look were together now" 

"But daddy was gone" Cassenova points to Newt.

"But look Cassie, i'm here now. And i'm not leaving ever . I promise" Newt wipes the tears from her cheeks.

"And neither am I" Thomas keeps rubbing her arm.

She nods slowly. "O-Ok , if you promise then I know you won't "

"Do you think your ready to go back to sleep?"

"Can I sleep with you? Pleasee?" The two boys exchange looks and nod. "Of course sweetie" . Newt picks her up and the three of them get into their bed and both boys hold her close as they all fall asleep once again.

~Next Morning ~

 Thomas had woken up early to go run the maze with MInho and Florence, leaving, Newt and Cassie with a kiss on their heads. Cassie woke up about an hour later and she wakes Newt up as well. They get dressed and Newt takes her to the kitchen for breakfast.

"Hey it's sweetpea, you hungry?" Fry gives her a bright smile just like yesterday. She nods vigorously and Fry just chuckles and passes her and Newt two plates of food. "Enjoy  the food sweetpea" Fry turns to Newt. "How'd she sleep last night?" Newt smiles at Fry's concern for her. "She had a nightmare but after that she was fine and went back to sleep. Speaking of which after breakfast I want to have a keepers meeting, I need to tell you guys something" Fry nods. "ok good. Something wrong ?" Newt shakes his head 'no' . They just eat in silence for the rest of  breakfast.

"Chuck!! Come here please" Newt calls Chuck over and he comes running.

"Yes Newt?" "I need you to watch cassie for a bit for me , think you can do that?" Chuck nod vigorously. "Yup , I got it Newt! Come on Cassie follow me!" She jumps off her chair . "OK coming Chuck!!" The two run off . "Ok let's go Fry" Newt calls the keepers meeting. Two minutes later all the keepers are in the council hall. "Why did you call this meeting Newt?" Alby demanded.

"It's about Cassie, She had a nightmare last night. That was actually memories" 

"Memories? Like before the maze?" Newt nods.

"Well what did she remeber?"

"She remebers who her dads were"

"Dads? As in more then one?" Again Newt just nods.

"Well who are they?"

"Me and Thomas". The council looks at Newt in shock.

"Woah"

"That was unexpected"

"I mean kind of makes sense out of everybody"

"Well thanks for the info Newt, I want to add to a rule. The chuck rule. The rule is to always protect Chuck , to never let anything bad happen to him. I'm adding Cassenova to this rule. Nothing is to happen to them understood?" The other keepers just nod. "Good, meeting over". With that the keepers leave the council.

Newt goes and finds Chuck and Cassie. Chuck Proceeds to sweeping the homestead and Newt takes Cassie to the gardens so he can keep an eye on her. Cassie plays with the sticks and grass while the others work. After awhile , Newt picks apples and puts them in a basket that has a string tied to it. 

"Cassie  do you think you can take this basket to the kitchen?" She nods, happy to do something. "I can do it daddy" He smiles and she takes the string and starts to drag the  basket to the kitchen.

 "Hey sweetpea, what are you doing here?"

"Daddy told me to bring this basket of apples to you" She now completely dragged the basket into the kitchen . Fry nods and picks up the basket , sitting it on the counter.

"Thank you Sweetpea. Do you want to stay here or go back to Newt?"

She looks  out of the kitchen hut and then back at Fry . "I wanna stay with you" He nods .

"Ok then you can't touch anything because i'm going to be cooking food" She nods eagerly and he picks her up and sets her on the other counter.

While he prepares food, him and cassie talk about absolutely random things. Some of which makes no sense but Fry keeps up the conversation with because he loves seeing her adorable little smile.

After a little bit the runners come back and Minho comes into the kitchen with Florence to get something to eat. "Oh hey it's mini shank " Minho smiles at cassie and Cassie just giggles at his comment. Whereas Flo hits Minho on the chest. "Be nice Min" "What? I am being nice" Cassie starts doing grabby hands towards Minho and Fry and Flo try to keep in their laughter. 

Minho picks up Cassie while he bites into an apple. "Minnie! " "Hey mii shank have fun in the kitchen?" She nods  and plays with his fingers that are holding her to him. "Very much " . "That's good. How about we take you to Newt, hm?" She nods excitedely and Minho throws his now finished apple in the garbage and takes Flo's hand with his free one. 

The three of them make their way over to Newt in the gardens and Cassie starts getting really excited. "Daddy! Daddy! Daddy! Daddy! " Newt immediately smiles when he sees Cassie and takes her from Minho.

"Daddy??!!" Flo and Minho question at the exact same time.

Newt chuckles . "Right you missed that in keepers meeting this morning. Cassie got some memories last night of her parents . And well me and Thomas are her dads."

"Honestly not surprised, she's been attached to the both of you since the beginning. Mini shank has two shanks for dad. But it's cool"

"I think it's really cute but still sad that they'd send somebody so young up in here"

"Ya I agree but me and Thomas made a vow to always protect her and we added to the chuck rule of any glader to harm either her or Chuck will be banished"

"That's good but i could never see why anyone would want to hurt these kids but i agree."

"That would just be cruel"
