Chapter 17

Bella

I woke up to Ella Mai's boo'd up playing lowly downstairs. Being one of my songs I sang along moving my hips here and there.

I did my morning routine, wore my robe and made my way to the kitchen to see Amir bare chested busily making breakfast. I smiled blessing God for a man like this.

"Hey, it smells good here" I said hugging him from behind. Coming from giant-looking families, Amir and I were almost same height, he was 6'2 while I was 6'1.. I grabbed two plates and set the table.
"Good morning to you too" he smiled and gave me a simple kiss.
He did a few thing more while I set the table..

He served the breakfast which had scrambled eggs, bacons, toast and pineapple juice. I smiled taking a bite after saying grace, it so was delicious.
"You know what? I bless your mom for teaching you how to cook Mir." I said

He laughed and said.. "you know what I woke up thinking?"
I hummed sipping on my juice, nodding so he goes on

"How to properly love you" I smiled
"You know, I'm hopeful for the best, I've no clue what's going to happen next but I know I want you, your energy, your love, your body, everything you babe.. I am in love with you but I want to do better. I want to be a better partner to you, for us. For our future kids and like you would say, 'for humanity' ha" he said smiling in the process

"You make me the happiest man and that is all that I need Bella" he completed getting on his knee. "Do me the honor by being my wife, mine only."

Being a softie I found a drops of tears down my cheeks which turned into a full crying session with me constantly saying "wow, you're lying" Amir knowing that's my favourite word when I'm surprised. He laughed and said "I'm serious babe" now my focus was on the ring being slide down my finger and the man I'm marrying soon. I was all up for this!

I joined him down and kissed him.. "You make me the happiest woman too Mir, I don't regret allowing you in my life.. You're one of the greatest gift the heavens blessed me with, I'm ready to do this. Be your wife, a good wife and a good mother to the kids the heavens would bless us with. I love you so much" I said.

We stayed hugged on each other for sometime. Finished eating and head upstairs to cuddle.

"Girl when was you going to sayyy" I heard Ahyoki say.
I woke up to see her all up in my face.

"Girlll why are you all up in my face and bed?" I said looking around for Amir. It was late afternoon I guess I fell asleep.
Ahyoki stared at me like crazy.. she pouted and said "you ain't answer me"

"Okay okay he proposed this morning" I smiled
"What are you doing here though"
She rolled her eyes and hugged me. "Congratulations sis, anywho mom, dad your big headed brother and fine ass husband to me are downstairs waiting on ya" she chuckled.

"They know??" I asked.
She smirked.. "oh yes, he did discuss it with pops before taking the big step. Dad told mom and ma passed it to us. Aye we all like him so we said yes before you did"

I laughed. Ahyoki is just something else. I dressed up and we head downstairs.
Big Princess face lit up when she saw me and  immediately search for the ring.

"Ma don't act surprise because I know you know." I giggled

"Of course I do, congratulations baby. I'm happy for you and so proud of you and Amir" she said pulling me into a warm hug.

"The ring is so beautiful" she added.

"Why you grow up so fast" Dad said pouting
"No I did not, I'm still your baby" I laughed hugging him.

"I didn't think this would come soon Belle but you chose the perfect man so I'm not bothered. Your mean self said you won't get a boyfriend now look at you" he dramatically said fanning is face.

"Your dad is just dramatic baby" Mom said rolling her eyes. "I'm a daddy's girl mom so allow it" I laughed.

De'andre's tall self came to congratulate and hug me. "If not my baby brother looking peng peng" I said making him shy. This boy keeps growing, he's almost our dad's height.

The women giggled among themselves while the men chit chat about sports and manly talk..

"Sooo is the date set little princess?" Missy asked

"Nope mom, we are yet to discuss that and I guess a whole lots of stuff like how we are going to do this marriage thing, plans, bills, when we got kids and all that"

"Greats baby. It is very necessary" She said nodding.

"And I thought someone didn't want kids, what changed??" Ahyoki chipped in

"I didn't want kids before, a few reasons like not being able to be a good mom like my biological mother but the heavens blessed me with another mother who's just amazing and a God sent. So yes I can do this" I replied looking at our mom.

She smiled and pulled us into a warm hug. "I am equally blessed to have y'all as my children" she said.

We heard a cleared throat making us shake our heads in sync knowing perfectly well it's dad. "Why am I not being hugged too?" He complained raising a brow.

Big princess rolled her eyes and left for the kitchen.. He mumbled a few words and followed her. Amir joined me in the couch making Ahyoki shyly leave for the kitchen too..

"Your parents are a perfect couple" he said. I nodded equally agreeing with him. They have come a long way and I admire them.

"I want their kind of relationship, almost perfect and worth keeping and I know with an amazing fiancé I will definitely have that" he said planting a kiss on lips..

"Fiancé huh?" I mumbled kissing him back.
