This was it. This was what Hayami had trained for. Time had passed by like a flash, and Hayami was able to complete her training in the span of seven months. There she stood, at the bottom of the Fujikasane mountain ━ she was surrounded by beautiful shades of purple. The wisteria flowers amazed Hayami, not only by their sweet scent but by the abilities they prove to have.
It was time for the final selection. From what Gyomei had told her, the mountaintop was infested with demons, and no wisteria flowers bloomed at the peak. Both Kanae and Rengoku had told her that the exam itself lasted a week. A week where the examinee had to survive seven nights on that demon-infested mountaintop.
Hayami would not lie and declare that she was not terrified. The girl was shaken to her core. Seven nights on a mountaintop filled with demons? It seemed like a suicide mission. Although her friends reassured her that she'd do fine. She found it ironic since she recalled thinking that she would never consider being a demon slayer ━ let alone go through with the final selection. Yet here she stood a few inches away from the dark mountain, not knowing where her legs would bring her but all she knows is that she should do all that she could to survive. Hayami was unsure what she was doing.
"If doing this means I get to save people, I will go through it" she muttered as she walked through the gate.
Hayami looked around her, she saw the other examinees taking the test. There were some that seemed to be older than her, and some were still at a young age. The girl gulped at the sight of the dark. The light from the area she gathered with the other examinees along with the scent of the wisteria flowers started to disappear. Even the gleam of the moon that she had admired was not of use in the pitch-black darkness. This was where everything just got real.

"Breath of peace, third form: tranquility volatile"
During the period she had trained with the stone hashira ━ Hayami was able to adapt most of the breathing styles to fit her needs. In this case, forming the breath of peace.
The ginger-haired girl clasped her two hands together before muttering "may you rest in peace" towards the demon she had just beheaded.
Although Hayami had executed everything she had practiced, throughout the period she stayed at Fujikasane mountain; the girl mostly spent her time foraging for food during the day along with constantly wiping her nichirin sword clean. At night, Hayami was surprised at the little number of demons she had encountered.
From what she had calculated, she had only slain about nine demons in total. That seemed like a high number but within the span of six days, it was a small amount. She assumed that either there was one very talented examinee that had annihilated nearly all the demons or Hayami was lucky enough to be in a less-infested area on the mountain.
