The peace hashira wandered around the small office she and Shinobu were in just a day before. Her eyes seemed to be skimming the shelves lined with files and books, searching, as her fingertips traced the writings engraved to the spine of each hardcover.

"There it is," Hayami muttered as she finally located the book she needed. A book for basic Japanese sign language.

Rengoku had started learning sign language in the past two years since he had become a hashira. His hearing had improved quite a lot since before, but he practiced sign language in the case of an emergency. And Hayami had been trying to learn on her own. She had only started a few weeks prior, only learning a few phrases here and there ━ she hadn't informed Rengoku about her independent study, she would have if she got the chance to see him soon.

As she flipped the pages of the book carefully, she stumbled upon a page that had steps on how to sign a certain phrase. The corner of her lips curved up slightly as her eyes read the words that held the definition of the hand motion.

She reached her palm out as she attempted to practice the motion the book had illustrated.

"This is perfect" she muttered as she stared at her hand that had done the motion.

Hayami continued doing the motion several times, making sure she had done it according to the book.

"Huh~?"

The ginger-brown-haired female had never been more spooked in her entire life. It was as if her soul had left her body as she jumped in surprise at the sound. Her head quickly turned to look at the doorway at the source of the sound, less to her surprise, Shinobu was there staring back at her as she waved her hand at the peace hashira.

"Hayami-san~! What a surprise~! Just what might you be doing here??" Shinobu continued as she trudged towards Hayami, her soft footsteps padding against the wooden floorboards.

Hayami set the book aside as she held both her hands in front of her. "Uhm. . . It's a book about sign language, Shinobu-chan" she explained softly.

The insect hashira clasped her hands together at the explanation, "I see~! You want another way to communicate with Rengoku-san right~? How sweet of you Hayami-san~!" Shinobu spoke.

She felt a heat rush against the apples of her cheeks, "Shinobu-chan?" She asked as her ocean eyes locked with the faint purple ones Shinobu had.

"How do I talk to him? Kyojuro-san. .?" Hayami continued as her voice started trailing off.

Shinobu felt her heart drop to her stomach at the words of the elder female, who was asking her for advice. One that she had no idea how to give. The insect hashira was confused as to why Hayami would even ask her the question since she too had no idea how to showcase her own feelings for a certain charcoal-haired male. How exactly was she going to give advice? She was no expert. She was not, Kanae.
