With a few swift motions, Hayami twirled her nichirin blade in her hands, getting a better grip. She could feel her knuckles turning white at the grasp she had on her weapon.

Whether or not Kanao was aware of Shinobu's sacrifice is not important at the moment. Defeating this monstrous creature was the main goal. If the peace hashira is able to survive this battle, she'll ask Kanao about it once they have finished this demon.

Hayami inhaled through her gritted teeth before she sprinted towards the wretched creature. She quickly bent her knees before leaping into the air, attempting to strike first.

"Breath of peace, fourth form: silent sea"

She watched as her blade sank into the skin of his neck before she flicked her wrist to the side, cutting through his flesh. Hayami bit the inside of her cheek in desperation as her blade was suddenly held in place by the sharp fans the demon used.

The peace hashira was aware that the demon had practically consumed a large dose of wisteria poison from Shinobu's body, and she hoped with the help of her coated blade, the poison would take effect faster. This demon really was a pain, and it seems he wouldn't die no matter what.

Hayami wanted nothing more but for Kanao to turn on her heels and run, she already had to watch Kanae and Shinobu die. She didn't have to watch young Kanao lose her life either.

"Ah~! What an incredible move~! Perhaps you are my taste after all~!" The demon spoke happily as his multicolored eyes stared into her own, a sickening smile on his face.

With the palm of his hand grasping his fan, he pulled out the peace hashira's blade before letting it fall to the wooden floorboards they stood on. His other hand grasped her neck somewhat loosely as he admired the scars adorned all over it.

"Your scars are quite beautiful~! Perhaps you earned them after killing my fellow demons? I wonder how many scars you will earn before I absorb you too~!" He wondered as the sharp nails he had grazed over the marks she had received years ago.

"How many scars I earn is none of your concern, you will not be standing in the end, to see them anyway." She plainly answered as she frowned at the expression he had.

She set aside the deep wound she had in her abdomen and gathered the internal strength she had. Before she used her leg to push his head to the ground. Hayami quickly grasped her sword that was discarded on the ground and stabbed it deep into his neck. She couldn't care less how she would kill him, if it meant she had to mangle his head off, she would.

Hayami tried her best to keep the demon's body in place, with both her legs and her arms. But one jab to the bloody abdomen she had, made her jolt in pain. And that was exactly what happened.
