Hayami couldn't get a wink of sleep. All she heard from her room at the butterfly estate was Haganezuka yelling at Tanjiro whilst chasing him around. The peace hashira stopped attempting to close her eyes shut, and instead walked into the kitchens to start making mitarashi dango in advance. Might as well, instead of waiting for Aoi to make them herself.

She watched as Tanjiro tiredly ate his breakfast after getting chased the whole night. And for once, Inosuke who always had a boar mask, lifted it up to his hair to eat. Hayami was surprised to see his facial features for the first time.

He had quite a pretty and feminine face, which was a contrast to his muscular build and the coarse voice he had. His eyes were large and had irises that faded from a dark to a soft pale green. His hair was thick and reached just by his shoulder as it faded into a bright blue at the tips.

"What's Haganezuka-san doing now?" Zenitsu questioned as Aoi handed Inosuke his second serving of rice.

"Haganezuka-san is busy eating the mitarashi dango Hayami-san made earlier in the morning on the porch." She explained as she glanced Hayami's way, her face showed that she was thankful for her service.

As both Sumi and Kiyo explained how mitarashi dango is Haganezuka's favorite food, Inosuke too wanted to eat it. "I WANT THAT TOO!" He yelled out, his mouth stuffed with the meal Aoi had cooked.

"All right then, I'll try to make some for you later," Aoi replied, and much to Hayami's surprise, her voice was less stern and softer towards the boy.

It has been around four months since Rengoku Kyojuro's passing. Summer had easily come to an end as the leaves started to turn beautiful shades of crimson and yellow. And for Hayami, it felt quite odd to walk under the summer sun with him nowhere to be found. The fall season was one that reminded her of him the most, and it pains her that she has been living the past few months without him. All the shades of fall were the shades of the late flame hashira.

The three young demon slayers had trained hard the past four months. Although Hayami was rarely around to see it, she'd execute her missions at night and mostly spend her time cooped up in her room during the day. However, it amazes her that the young boys are able to quickly improve their skills in swordsmanship, as they come back to the butterfly estate, mission after mission with only a few scratches on their skin.

Today would be the one day Hayami spends the day outside, instead of being inside her room. Purely because Shinobu had errands to attend to. Which would make Hayami somewhat 'in charge' for the time being.

As she was walking around the halls of the butterfly estate, the sudden yells of young girls could be heard.

She ran as fast as her legs could take her, she had her nichirin sword drawn out, and in her head, she thought, "why would there be demons out in the broad daylight?"
