Hayami had finally gotten her wounds properly treated, some of the cuts and bruises have mostly healed. It has been two weeks since the final selection, and today would be the day she receives her official demon slayer corps uniform and her very own nichirin blade. She had counted the days as her injuries heal.
The girl had told her mentor, that during the final selection the nichirin sword Kanae lent her, was quite heavy and its long straight blade made it difficult for her to curve her arm in a circular-like motion for her breathing form. Since the breathing form she had derived from stone breathing required similar traits to it, Hayami required a nichirin sword that is able to execute the spin-like motions used in the breath of peace. Gyomei insisted that she let him know all the defects she had gotten using the light pink nichirin sword, in order for him to pass on the notes to the swordsman that would be forging her nichirin sword.
Hayami was walking around using her pajamas ━ the robes given to injured demon slayers. The haori she always wore was washed and cleaned of the bloodstains it had. Although Hayami enjoyed calm days like this, she knew that when she officially became a demon slayer with that uniform. Her life will change.
"Hayami-san!" A cheerful voice called out.
Hayami turned her head to see Aoi, the little child she had rescued that day she agreed to become Gyomei's tsuguko. Only a few months have passed, but the ginger-haired girl was able to see Kanzaki Aoi grow into such a warm-hearted child. There were times when Aoi would scold some of the Kakushi's or demon slayers that walked into the butterfly estate. Repeatedly saying that they should be more careful. She may only be eleven, but she really started to act motherly-like. Since Hayami became a demon slayer, she was rarely in the butterfly estate, which she felt bad for, since Aoi mostly spends time on her own. Hayami wished that she'd get a friend; someone her age possibly.
"Yes, Aoi-chan?" Hayami answered softly.
"The stone hashira is here to see you," Aoi explained.
Hayami nodded in understanding before following the young girl to where Gyomei was. Aoi stared up at the teenager beside her. In multiple ways, she admires Nakamura Hayami. Not only because she had saved her life, but how dedicated she was to bringing peace to others. Aoi had seen how hardworking Hayami was during her training period, and seeing her become this ━ demon slayer ━ was immensely incredible to Aoi. Although she herself is too terrified to even witness a demon again.
Aoi led Hayami to her mentor before leaving the two on their own. The ginger-haired girl stared up at the stone hashira, beaming softly at his blank gaze. "How may I be of service, Gyomei-san?" Hayami asked.
Gyomei gestured to the demon slayer uniform he had in his hands. Hayami widened her eyes at the sight. Her official demon slayer uniform. She carefully took it from Gyomei's hands and inspected it.
