Matthias was sad. Nina had taken all of the cookies. So he broke up with her, she didn't understand his reasoning as to why he wanted to break up with her so Matthias thought he was better off with someone who would understand.
Unfortunately for Matthias he did find someone who understood and that was Inej. But Matthias knew he shouldn't fall in love with her cause she was Kaz's investment. But what did Matthias do? Fall in love with Inej.
Matthias got the courage to go and talk to Inej.
"He-hey Inej."
"Hi Matty" Inej replied casually. As if this was casual.
"I was just wondering if um.." Matthias replied dumbly.
"If um.. what Matthias? Speak." Inej replied swiftly.
"If you knew about Nina's and my breakup." Matthias replied dumbly. Again. (Really Matthias please try to be smart)
"Oh yea. I heard about that it's all over town!"
"demjin." Matthias replied in Fjerdan.
"You calling me a demon Matthias?" Inej replied as she walked off.
How could I have just called her a demon?! Matthias thought. She's the one I love! I shouldn't be calling her a demon. But I guess I did call Nina a demon...enough thinking about Nina! Tomorrow I will tell Inej that I love her!
As Matthias went to bed all he could think of was Inej.
"Inej! I didn't mean to call you a demon yesterday! I was calling Nina one." Matthias said the next morning.
"Doesn't make it any better. Matthias can we make this conversation quick? I have things to do and places to be." Inej replied as if she was bored.
"Yeah sure. I just have to tell you something." Matthias said.
This is my chance to tell her that I love her. Matthias thought.
"Ok Matthias what do you have to tell me?" Inej replied.
"Well i wanted to tell you that... I love you Inej. Will you go on a date with me?"
"Oh Matthias. No I'm sorry, I don't love you." Inej replied softly.
"But why?" Matthias replied angrily.
"You might think you are a king, but a queen makes more than one move." Inej replied smartly. (See Matty you can also reply smartly)
"That make no sense." Matthias replied confused.
"When you're mature enough to to understand maybe I'll go on a date with you."
Matthias never got to go on that date because by the time he understood he was dead.
