Daniella's POV

I hang up the phone and sigh.

"So, are we going now or what?" Ashton asks from behind me. He's been sitting on the bed, patiently waiting for me to be ready to go.

"I... um..." I try to think of something to get me out of this. God I know Lara said it would be fine but...

"'Um' what? Are you hiding something from me?" Ashton asks suspiciously, standing up and wrapping his arms around my waist.

"No, I um..." He raises his eyebrow and I just decide to divert his attention.

"My neck still... you know, hurts. Maybe we should go check it out? At the hospital, yeah, that's a good idea. Don't want to meet my mom while my neck is still hurting. So um, I'll drive and uh," I ramble on, releasing myself from his grasp. He gives me a kind of annoyed look and rolls his eyes. I look around the room, searching for the car keys. "Do you have the-" I stop myself when he holds them up, letting them hang from his fingers. "Ah, good. Ok, I'll take them and we can head out now." I reach out to grab the keys from him but he pulls them back.

"Babe, you haven't been complaining about that all day and now you want to go to the hospital after I say I want to meet your mother? What's really going on?" he asks, genuinely worried.

"Nothing, it's nothing I just... I don't know. I mean this is my MOM. It's a big step in our relationship." I lie. Not that it's not true, but that wasn't what was really bothering me.

"We've literally done everything but meet each other's parents. Why is this bothering you so much? It's just your mom."

"Yeah but why am I going first?!" I ask a little loudly. "I'm sorry." I apologise. "I just, I'm nervous. I've never introduced my mom to a guy before and I'm afraid what she'll think." I say, again, not telling the whole truth.

"Hey," he puts his hands on my shoulders. "Don't worry. Even if she doesn't like me, which I highly doubt since everyone loves me," he adds with a smirk. I roll my eyes as he continues. "I'm not going anywhere." He finishes sincerely. I nod and he pulls me into a hug.

"Ok." I say into his chest.

"So are you good to go?" he asks cautiously. I pull out of the hug and nod, smiling slightly. "Great! This will be amazing don't worry!" He grabs my hand, pecking my lips, and pulls me out of the room after making sure we didn't forget anything, not like there's much to forget. Once we get to the car I hold out my hands, gesturing for the keys. He looks at me, squinting his eyes. "There's no way I'm letting you drive." He says suspiciously.

"Why? Do you know where we're going?" I ask him.

"No, but you can tell me. I don't know if you're 100% on board with this. And since you're not giving me any real reason not to see your mom, I will make sure we do end up at your house, whether it takes minutes or hours." I laugh a little at his speech and get into the passenger seat. He gets into the driver's seat and turns on the motor, then pausing and looking at me. "So, where to first M'lady?" he asks. I giggle a little, managing to forget momentarily what was worrying me so much.

"First, get out of the parking space." I say. "duh" I add, making it sound stupid.

"I knooooww, but after that." He rolls his eyes.

"Just get out of the parking garage and turn left at the corner." I say, giving him an actual answer.

"Thank you GPS." He says as he turns around to reverse out of the space.

"HEY! I am not a GPS! I am a human being!" I defend myself, messing with him.

"Aww... Well I thought you were a beautiful GPS. Guess I was wrong, You're a beautiful human." He pulls out of the space and brakes. He then leans across the center of the car and pecks my lips. "My human" He says after his lips leave mine. I burst out laughing as he looks at me confused. "What?!"
