You took the vial from Erwin's hand as he continued to look at you, waiting for an answer

Erwin wasn't suspicious of you, maybe confused yes but overall just interested to know why. He was sure you had another smart reasoning as you always did.

"Well..." he said

"That's between me and the lab to know why" you teased your lie

You tried using playful banter in hopes that it would completely dissolve the questioning.

"Mmmm funny girl" he said.

A smile present as he was happy to see nothing had fully changed between the both of you even after that weird occurrence from last night. He watched as you walked over to the lab table where the other vial sat, placing the other one down along with the notes Moblit had given you. Your eyes stared down the two vials as you pondered.

You felt the sudden feeling of something drape over your shoulders. You turned around to see Erwin had placed one of the lab coats on you.

"Don't want you staining your jacket with blood again miss scientist" he teased

You made a scowl of an expression as you looked up at him.

"Hey! We don't talk about that!"

He let out a laugh as he watched your face turn slightly red. He wrapped one arm around your shoulder.

"I'm just messing of course"

You shook his arm off as you couldn't help but let out a small smile yourself. You peered back down at the vials. You felt his presence still there, closer as he leaned in and stood right next to you to see what you were up to.

"But do tell your Commander why you have another vial, I must know of everything that's going on"

And there was that question again. Not even playful banter was enough to make it go away.

"It's..."

You picked one of them, you felt your hands beginning  to sweat.

You began to notice the slight discoloration between the two blood vials. One of them darker than the other. You looked down at the slightly darker one that was in your hands. You began to wonder if Erwin had opened the one he had found. If he had, he had invited oxygen to bind with the blood, making the blood darker than it originally is when inside the body.

You tilted the vial to make sure it wasn't just because of the angle you were holding it. As the blood moved around the vial, you felt some spill out and come onto your hands. The top was not fully shut, allowing oxygen to still seep into the blood.  Upset about blood leaking onto your hands, you were at least happy that your confirmation was indeed true.

The vial was indeed opened and still was, making the vials look as if they were two completely different samples.

"Oh my, here I got you" you heard Erwin say.

He quickly took out a handkerchief from one of his inside pockets from his jacket and took your hand, delicately cleaning it. You watched him as he made sure no blood was stuck between the lines in your palms.

"They're different blood samples" you finally spoke

A steady lie set on your tongue.

"They are?" he said looking up at you

You nodded your head. You pointed at the vials that sat on the table.

"Notice anything?"

He stopped and looked at the samples. His brows furrowed as he found nothing worthing noting for.
