Good night

You sat quietly with your arms folded across your chest as you stared straight at the dark door blankly. The tears had dried up, but the feeling felt gross as it still felt rather sticky.

"You don't have to worry, I won't tell anyone" you hear Jean's voice say with a reassuring manner.

Your eyes finally left the door as they glanced to the side looking at Jean who was turned from his chair, facing you.

"You can trust me" he said with a smile

Your eyes went back to the door.

"Never said I didn't"

Jean sighed as he turned back around, placing his chin in the palm of his hand as his pencil in the other one continued his new project.

"Just trying to make you feel better Y/n"

His tone fell off as he took notice that he wasn't going to be able to get to you. He was sure it was better off to just stop talking and just support you quietly, at least it will let you know there was someone in there with you for moral support.

Ten minutes had past and the only sound heard in that room was the scribbling of Jean's pencil.

Your eyes now tired, dropped down from the door to your lap as your arms allowed themselves to relax and drop down.

"I'm embarrassed Jean" you confessed

You can hear as the pencil stopped scribbling as he went into thought before he began again.

"There's nothing embarrassing about crying, it's normal. Just means you have feelings"

Jean placed down his pencil, he shifted his chair around to face you.

"You know..." he folded his arms "You remind me a lot of Levi"

You looked up at Jean as he managed to finally catch your attention like he wanted to.

"You both like to act like little badasses and bottle up your feelings"

Your brows furrowed as you began to glare at him

"Wh-"

but Jean was quick to cut you off

"That bottle is going to overflow someday and when it does you'll be at your lowest. You have this bad habit of pushing everyone away when you need them the most and that's gonna come back to bite you in the ass. Y/n, you're gonna wind up alone with no one there for you"

He watched as your face dropped as you heard his words. Your eyes widen with realization as they began to slightly gloss.

Alone.

The reason why you were there, why you were doing this mission was so you wouldn't be alone.

"I don't push them away, I talk to you and to them. I can't be alone" you argued

"Y/n, you can surround yourself with hundreds of people and you'll still feel alone. You need to allow yourself to fully open yourself up to others, show them your vulnerable side and allow them to be there for you"

You let out a sigh as you hit your head on the back wall.

"I don't know if I'll ever be able to do that"

"Hey" you hear him say "You opened up to me just now, so I say that's a start"

"So what, does this mean we're actual friends?"

"Of course, we've both been there in our time of need. I say we can trust each other fully to call each other true friends"

You felt yourself gulp.
