My Understandings. (Of Mice and Men love story.)

One more spoon of cough syrup.

After drinking a cup of coffee, Jenna dropped me off at my house, and my phone rang. 

I saw Shay's caller ID. "Hey." I smiled. "I miss you." He said, groggily. "Have you been sleeping all day?" I asked. "Yeah." I could imagin him, rubbing his face. "Sorry I didnt call you, I was visiting with my old friends."

"Its okay, you should get some sleep." He yawned. "Okay, I love you." 

"Love you too Abigail." 

I smiled, then got ready for bed.

I woke up to my alarm clock buzzing. I got ready for school, then left.

When I arrived, I saw the memorial dedicated to Max. I hadn't seen that before I left. 

There was a framed picture of me and him together. "We helped make that." I heard Jenna behind me. I turned around and smiled. "Its nice. He would have loved that." Jenna put her hand on my shoulder. "We all miss him." She said, hugging me. "Abigail?" I heard behind me.  

I turned around, and saw Max's bestfriend, Alexander, but we just call him Lux. 

He looked almost like Gerard Way, except his face was more sunken, and his hair was almost white.

The drugs did not do good things to him.

"Lux." I said, hugging him as tight as I could. He smelled like cigarettes. "I missed you." He said. He took my long hair in his hand. "You look terrible Lux." I said, putting my hand on his very high cheek bones. He grabbed my hand. "I missed you a lot Abby." He changed the subject. I hugged him again. "I missed you too, Lux."

The atmosphere of this school was empty without Max.

I walked into the lunch room, and tried to find someone to sit with "Hey rehab girl." I heard as I bought my lunch. 

I turned around to see Ashley Dawn,, the girl who repeatedly bullied me, until I moved to California, and her boyfriend, Brandon, who tried to rape me at a party. "Dont call me that." I said, glaring at both of them

"Why not? Its true. You're rehab girl, everyone knows it." Brandon looked me up and down and smiled evily. "Leave me alone." I hissed, trying to walk past them. Ashley pushed me back. "How was it." She asked. "I wasn't in rehab. Thats not why I left. I moved to California with my cousin." I explained. "Mhm." Brandon said. "Oh look, other drug addicts." Ashley said. I turned around and saw Melanie and Lux. "Lets go." Melanie said wrapping her arm around me, glaring at the two as we found seats. 

"Stay away from Brandon." Lux said as we sat down. "Do you think im stupid?" I laughed, sitting down, opening my tea. Lux smiled, then took a bite of his apple.

After my 5th hour class I met Melanie for chorus. We got into the room, and it reminded me too much of Shay and Austin. "ABIGAIL! YOU'RE BACK!" My old, British, chorus teacher, Mrs. Jeans, yelped. She walked quickly to me, and hugged me. "This chorus has gone to utter shit without you." I laughed.

During class I shot Shay a text.

A: I miss you

S: I miss you too babe. Hows your day so far?

A: Good, Im in chorus again

S: Great! You are one of the best vocalists I've heard.

A: I love you, call me tonight?

S: Of course sweetie.
