My Understandings. (Of Mice and Men love story.)

Goodbye.

I ran to my room, tears falling off of my cheeks. I curled up in a ball in the blankets. I cried as hard as could in the blankets. 

I felt hands around me. "I dont like seeing you sad." His calming, quiet voice said. "I cant stand this." I cried. He turned me over, and kissed my lips, softly. "I love you." His eyebrows furrowed, and his eyes closed. He wiped the tears off of my face.

I woke up in Max's (green) arms. "No, no, no, no" I quickly got out of bed, slipping on all my clothes. I walked into the kitchen to look at the clock. 12:34 a.m. 

I sighed knowing I shouldn't call Shay. I sat on the couch, and flipped on the tv. After a couple of minutes my phone started ringing in my room. 

It was Ronnie. 

"Hey." I said. "ABBY. Abby, thank god. How much money do you have?" My eyebrows furrowed. "Why?" 

"I need you to bail me out." My mouth dropped. "How much Ronnie?" I asked running to my wallet. "2,000." He said quietly. 

"Im 17, do you expect me to have that kind of money!?" I screamed. "Why the fuck are you yelling?" Max asked rubbing his eyes. "If you dont find any money, you're going to move in with your parents Abby." Ronnie said. "What? No. I can move in with-" 

"Im your legal guardian Abigail, and if Im not there you have to go back to Seattle." He said. I slid down the wall. 

"But-" 

"Just find some money!" He yelped. "I love you Abby." He said. I heard the phone hang up. I put my phone in my pocket, and buried my face in my hands. "Fuck!" I screamed. 

"Whats wrong?" Max asked. "What happened?" He put his arm around me.

"Dont touch me Max." I snapped.

I ran out the door, and into the cold night air.

I ran as fast as I could, I didn't know where I wanted to go but then it came to me.  

I got my phone out. 

"Hello?" He said. "Did I wake you up?" I asked wipping away the tears. "No, whats wrong?" 

"Im coming over." I said. "The door is unlocked." 

I ran to his house. I saw him sitting at the counter, with his laptop, eating chips. He got up. "What happened? Did Shay hurt you again?!" He yelled. 

I ran to him, and hugged him. "Austin, Ronnie is in jail and Im moving back to Seattle." I said. 

I looked up into his big brown eyes. "W-What?" 

"Dont let me go." I cried on his shoulder. "Did you tell Shay?" He whispered. 

"Not yet." I chocked out. 

I didnt want to think about the look on his face. "You need to." He said, buiring his face in my neck. "I will tell him tomorrow." I said lifting up my face, wiping my eyes. "Austin, I cant leave." 

My phone started ringing. "Abby, where the hell did you go?!" Max screamed over the phone. "It doesn't matter." I aid hanging up. 

"Cant you live with Max?" Austin asked. "My mom has to choose the guardien, I dont think she wants Max watching her child." Austin gave a small smile.

I fell asleep on Austin's couch, then woke up in his bed. I walked down quietly. I saw his dad, and him sitting on the couch, watching tv. "Good morning Abby." His dad said. "Good morning Mr. Carlile." I smiled. "Do you want to go to Shay's now or later?" Austin asked as I sat by him. I sighed. 

"Now, just let me get ready." 

I went up stairs to his bathroom, and put my hair up. I washed the remaining makeup off my face, then walked down stairs. 

"Ready?" He asked. I nodded, then we got into the car. 

When we got to Shay's I was almost in tears. Austin rang the doorbell, and he answered, smiling. 

It killed me because I knew he wouldn't be smiling like that for long. "We need to talk." I said. 

We went inside. "Im moving back to Seattle." I said after a long silence. "You're what?" He asked making a double take. Tears welted my eyes. "Ronnie is in jail, and he just wants me to go back to Seattle." I said. 

"No, you cant leave me." He said. I hugged him. "Im sorry." I cried. "I have no choice." 

He was quiet. "I will come and visit." I said giving them a small smile. I wiped Shay's tears away. He put my hand down, then kissed me hard. 

"I love you." He whispered in my ear. The tears came out of my eyes faster. "I love you too." 

"We should all go to Disney Land sometime soon." Austin suggested. "You, me, and Shay. It will be fun." Austin said joining the hug.

It was the day I was supposed to leave, but first we were going to Disney Land. "That will be 50 dollars." The cashier smiled. 

I got my only money out. Austin put his money donw and paid. "Its ok me." He said. I sighed. "No." 

"She already took the money!" Austin laughed. "Cmon Abby. Cheer up." Shay said putting his arm around me.
