Wooyoung smiled down at the little girl that fell asleep in his arms, her thumb stuck into her mouth.

"If you don't mind me asking," Wooyoung looked up at Mary, who nodded for him to continue. "Where is her father?"

Mary sucked in a breath, looking down at her daughter as she spoke. "He died in the group that volunteered to get supplies."

Wooyoung felt his heartbreak, that meant he died a few days ago. "I'm so sorry."

"It's okay," She said, even though her voice cracked. "I'm just glad it wasn't the Surge that killed them.."

"Who killed them?"

Mary tsked and shook her head in disgust. "Fucking Vultures, can't let anyone have anything unless they get it first."

Wooyoung shiveref as he remembered encountering them, hoping they won't anytime soon.

"How old are you?" Wooyoung randomly asked, quickly muttering sorry.

"I'm 24."

"How old is Luna?"

"She's six."

Wooyoung smiled down at the small girl in his arms. She looked exactly like Mary, except for the brown hair and dark eyes, while Mary had strawberry blonde hair and brown eyes.

"You know, I never thought we'd end up in a place like this." Mary started, looking at Wooyoung then around the room. "When I was pregnant with Luna, I was eighteen and living with my sister not too far from here."

"What happened to her?" Wooyoung looked over at Jongho when he asked.

"She died." Mary said, looking down at her hands, trying not to cry. "One night, she and I ended up in a big argument, and she was upset the worst and left the house for a few days. It wasn't an odd thing for her to do, she was just someone who couldn't stay inside all day, so her leaving didn't seem...bad.
When she came back, Namjoon had found my husband and I and offered to go with him. We said yes because he told us how he had the support to help me give birth."

Wooyoung stayed silent, running a hand through the little girl's hair.

"After Luna was born, that's when she started to act strange." Mary finally looked up at Wooyoung, tears in her eyes. "It was like she was fighting against herself. She would talk to herself at night, sometimes she was scared to go to sleep, and when she couldn't take it anymore, that's when she went into hypovolemic shock.
At that time, we didn't have the medicine to save her. Everything we had wasn't working, we didn't even have saline at that time, but that only does so much."

"How'd you figure out what you needed?"

"Well, when we figured out that the Surge made a serum that takes over their blood cells," Mary stood up and walked on the other side of Jongho to grab his file. "It causes the plasma cells to become too low, and that's what sends them into hypovolemic shock."

She walked over and sat next to Wooyoung, showing his blood rate. "Normal blood rate is 60 to 100 beats per minute. His blood rate was between 20 and 30 when he went into shock."
