Maddy rushes into my car after class today. I took my last final earlier today and waited for her to get out of class so we can go back to my place. We're all getting together to celebrate the end of junior year and also throwing a small going-away party for Nova. She's already leaving for NYC tomorrow to start filming. Maddy, Valdez, and I will still see her since I live in New York, Maddy's coming along with me, and Valdez promised he would come out for a while too. Still, we wanted to have a little celebration in honor of her biggest dream finally falling into place.

"Prof Moreno let us keep all our designs!" Maddy says excitingly. Even though I didn't see all of them the night she first showed them to me — because we got into a stupid fight — she showed them to me again. She turned them in a while back and got them back today. "Final grade?" I ask, driving out of school. "97, baby." I nod my head, impressed. My highest grade this semester was probably a 92%. Even so, I luckily passed all my finals and tests. Professors just need to do some last-minute inputting of grades so the official final grades will be posted by no later than tomorrow. I'm just fucking excited to have finished another year of college.

"How was your final?" she asks, leaning in to kiss my cheek. "Easy. I got a 91," I say honestly. I've been studying for a while now so the material is ingrained into my brain. "Perfect, now we can chill for a couple of months," she says. She leans back against the headrest and lowers her seat down lower. "Tired?" I ask. She turns her head to me as I pull up to a red light. "Worn the fuck out." It's been a busy week for all of us, thank God we have three months off. I lean over the middle console and kiss her. I part her lips with my tongue, wanting a quick taste of her. She sighs into the kiss, lifting her hand to my cheekbone. I pull away and kiss her on the forehead.

"Are Nova and Valdez there yet?" she asks as the light turns green. I shake my head, pressing on the gas only lightly so that I can switch lanes. "No, I think Valdez is still taking his last final, and then they're gonna go pick up the alcohol for tonight," I tell her. I take a sharp turn, almost missing it. "Shit," I say. Maddy grips onto the seat and my bicep. Her brows are furrowed, she shoots me a nasty look. "And you say I'm a bad driver," she says through clenched teeth. She detaches herself from my arm. "You are a terrible driver actually. I saved us, didn't I? You would've cashed into the mail post," I say. I just missed it, luckily. She glares at me.

"Shit, is the cake okay?" I ask. She turns around. "It's fine, but I'm not. My hearts about to pop out of my chest, Xander." She's so fucking dramatic. "Oh good, we'll finally get to see just how black it is," I joke. She punches my arm and I wince, a fake one. I rub my arm with my free hand even though it doesn't actually hurt. "You get on my nerves," she says. "Me and anyone else who breathes around you," I say, pulling into the driveway. She opens the door quickly, not waiting for me to get it for her. I get out too and lock the car. "Damn, straight," she finally says.

I walk around the car and push her up against it. She gasps lightly and I grab her hands, pinning them behind her. "So, I get on your nerves then?" Her chest falls heavily and it hits mine every time she breathes out. I would fuck her right here if it wasn't considered public. "Always," she says firmly. I look around, no one is outside their houses. Free show to anyone who might be watching from their windows though. I glide my hand up her skirt, cupping her sex. She's wet. "Oh yeah?" I say teasingly. Her jaw clenches and she pushes my hand away and then walks past me. "Remind me why we're together?" She doesn't turn to look at me and knocks her fist against the door.

I smirk and walk up behind her, opening the door with my key. "Because you love me," I whisper in her ear before opening the door for her. She doesn't. Love me that is. I don't know why I said that. She looks at me for a long second, her eyes noticeably softening from her usual icy glare. Rhys appears in the hallway, probably from hearing the knock. "Oh, hey," he says when he sees us. Maddy looks away from me at his voice. "Hey," she says back and finally walks inside. I close the door with my foot and hang my windbreaker on the coat rack. My long strides catch up to her as we're still in the dark hallway.
