Taehyung's POV

A sweet scent of fresh apple tingled my nose while I was sleeping. It felt so familiar. Suddenly it hit me and I shot up. This scent. It belonged to May. But why? Why is it acting up?
I got up from bed but froze for a second when I heard howls coming from the entire mansion. Her scent was everywhere.
Shit.
I ran out of the room, straight to hers. I barged in to find her down on the floor, covered in sweat.

"May!" I skid to her and patted her cheek, "May!!'

"Taehyung!" Sherry came it with a horrid face.

"Sherry get the car hurry up! Bring it in front on her room. NOW!" She didn't need to be told twice, she ran out. I tore my shirt sleeve and covered my mouth and nose, the scent was already making me dizzy. I took May in my arms as the howling got louder.
I have to get her out.

Taking a deep breath I held her tighter and jumped out of the window, I landed safely on the ground as Sherry brought the car.

"What do you mean you're not in city?!" I yelled at Jin through the phone.

"Taehyung there are five months left till she turns 18. I didn't expect this to happen so early."

"What am I suppose to do?!! Her scent is everywhere! It's driving everyone crazy."

"Mark her."

"Huh?"

"Mark her Taehyung. It'll stop the scent from affecting others, keep her in the omega ward. I'm already in the car, I'll tell the staff to do something."

I heard the engine getting started and then he hung up. I look at May in my lap. I glanced at Sherry who was still driving. She nodded at me and I took out my fangs.

I'm sorry May, even though you're already in pain. I bore her neck and sunk my fangs in, her body winced and trembled, tears came rolling out of her eyes in response.

"Tae-Hyung." Her voice was nothing more than a weak whisper and she drifted back into unconsciousness.

As we got off the car the staff was already ready, they took her from my arms and made their way to the ward. Me and Sherry watched them through the glass as they lay her in bed and starting giving her drips and injections.
Everyone looked like they knew what they were doing except one thing kept bothering me.
Five months ...
There were five months still left.

***

Four hours passed and I sat right there, looking at her through the glass as she would get random attacks and her body would would jolt up and down. It felt like I could see the steam coming from her body but I secretly prayed that it was just my imagination.
Sherry had gone back to the mansion to calm everyone and explain the situation.

Running Footsteps coming near caught my attention and I stood up when I saw Jin running towards the ward. He glanced at me but didn't have any time to speak. He opened the ward door and told the staff to rush her to the operation theater.
The staff didn't waste any time and started taking the bed as Jin looked at me breathless, neither of us exchanged any words, he nodded at me and left.

Another four hours passed but the emergency sign on top of the door didn't turn green.
I sat there anxiously, constantly tapping my feet on the floor.
Six hours, eight, thirteen hours went by and the sign finally turned green.

My heart rate sped up even more as I saw Jin come out but as soon as he saw me he looked down in shame.
Oh no, please don't do this to me.

"It was foolish of me to think that I'd be able to do something no one could do before." He clung on to his surgical gown, "I didn't expect this to happen so soon, we- I wasn't prepared enough... " He met my eyes for a moment and looked down again. "I'm sorry."

I shook my head in denial, "Don't say that, please..."

He pursed his lips and walked over to me and patted my shoulder. "I'm really sorry."

He went to take care of the essentials as I dropped to my knees.

Maybe not everyone deserves a happy ending.
