Eli x reader: Wonderful Tonight

[Just a little Valentine's special! I do hope you guys don't get tired with Eli because for sure I won't get tired writing about her! Looking at my books and specifically this one, is basically a landmine of Eli one-shots now lol. She's best girl and she'll always be. Also, if the title didn't ring a bell, this one-shot is based on a song.]

(3rd person POV)

"Today's Valentine's day and it was supposed to be me and Eli going on a date but I guess fate had other plans." Y/n said to himself as he sighed in defeat. Eli overheard what Y/n had said and went to her boyfriend.

"Hm? Don't be upset about it. Honoka and the others invited us to a party. Besides, you can get drunk later." Eli said as Y/n's eyes widened.

"You got me there. Anyways, I'll wait outside. Get dressed now, I've been waiting for minutes already." Y/n said as he chuckled.

"Well, I haven't seen them for a while now. We're now working and of course we don't have free time. Also, I'm sure you'd love to see them again as well." Eli said as Y/n nodded and went outside.

As Y/n was waiting for Eli inside the car, he was left to reminisce of his high school days with Eli. He and Eli have known each other since their first year in high school and by the time the school idol group of theirs were a thing, they were already dating months prior.

"I remember the times where they took a lot of convincing for Eli to join the group. It was pretty cute. I've come a long way with Eli... and I'm happy that I got this far with her." Y/n said to himself as the passenger door opened, it was Eli wearing an elegant red dress that made Y/n's thoughts blank as he was left only staring at her girlfriend.

"Y/n? Is anything wrong? Do I look all right?" Eli said, breaking her boyfriend's trance.

"Yes, you look wonderful tonight." Y/n said as Eli blushed.

"Thanks..." Eli said as she sat down. Y/n started the car as the two went on their way to the party.

"We're going to Maki's place, huh? I wish we could live in a mansion as big as hers." Y/n said as he kept his eyes on the road.

"Don't say things like that. We were able to own a house with our hard work. Besides, living in a mansion is not ideal if it's without you." Eli remarked as the lad blushed.

"Oh? I didn't expect you to say something like that. So you're saying that Maki is missing out because she isn't dating me? Well, I can certainly work that out." Y/n said as he chuckled while Eli pouted.

"You say that so confidently yet you're a mess when I leave you even for just a moment." Eli retaliated as Y/n chuckled. "Huh? Why are you laughing? Is there something wrong with what I just said?" Eli continued to ask.

"I know I'm a mess if you're not with me. I know that better than anyone else. That's why I never thought of leaving you even for just a millisecond. You're special, Eli. No girl could ever replace you, they'd just dream of it and I'm not one to attract that many girls in the first place." Y/n said as he stopped driving, getting caught by the stoplight as it turned red. Y/n suddenly noticed that Eli was silent. He looked at Eli and saw her cupping her cheeks and covering her mouth with it.

"Is anything wrong? We'd go back home if you're feeling sick." Y/n said as he put his hand on Eli's forehead, trying to feel if she had a high temperature.

"No- It's just that you shouldn't make me blush like that. I can't take in too much." Eli said as Y/n chuckled. The stoplight went green as Y/n continued to drive, still thinking of the cute scene he just witnessed.

~One drive later, Nishikino residence~

"There's quite a lot of people here. I thought it was only me, you, and the idol group?" Y/n said as he and Eli walked inside the mansion.
