The next few days were pure utter boredom. My muscles were tightening and feeling cramped from lack of use. I wanted to run, or even anything that's moving my body. Laying back in a bed all day is the most mentally tiring thing I've ever done.
Having nothing to do but sit back and relax sounds like heaven, but when it's been multiple days it becomes hell. Especially when I get a window view of the cadets training. The other day I saw them flying around with their ODM gear and it made me want to cut the wires and watch them fall.
The most physical activity I have done was shower.
It was late at night, Moblit had left and everyone else was asleep. I sighed, hearing my voice bounce across the walls. My eyes bored into the ceiling above me that I had become used to staring up at the past few days. I was frustrated, annoyed, aggravated, angry. Basically any word you can think of that described pissed off.
Oh fuck this.
I quietly threw the blanket off me, and placed my feet on the ground. I stood up putting all my weight on my injury-free ankle, and then tried walking normally. My legs had nearly become jello, giving a wobble in each step. My injured ankle felt stiff and had a strange sensation of pins and needles with a hint of pain.
Without a sound, I snook out of the infirmary and headed towards my room that I shared with Krista. The door creaked loudly as soon as I lightly pushed on it, causing my teeth to grind against each-other with anticipation. I took a deep breath and further pushed open the door as slowly as possible to keep it from creaking anymore.
When I walked in, I saw Krista had taken all my pillows from the bottom bunk and used them for herself. Who does she think she is? The queen?
I shook my head, and continued my excursion over to my bed on the bottom bunk. I got down on my knees and bent down to look under the bed, finding my small bag. My arm reached for it and I dragged it over to myself so I could open it.
I held my breath as the zipper buzzed every time I pulled it. Finally, when I had fully opened the bag my eyes twinkled at the bottle of wine I had inside. It wasn't a very big bag, it only had a few pictures, and one wine bottle.
My hand gripped it, making the inside feel as if my bones twisted. I let a shaky breath out, suppressing the urge to drop the bottle. My grip loosened by the slightest, easing myself of a little pain.
I shoved the bag back underneath the bed and got up. I smirked to myself as I had successfully completed my mission. Get the wine bottle. I walked out of the door, closing it behind me slowly.
Once it was closed, I turned around back to head towards the infirmary. As soon as I spun my body collided with another person causing my heart to leap out of its chest. The bottle of wine immediately was hidden behind my back as I took a step back to see who I had bumped into.
"what are you doing up at this time? shouldn't you be in the infirmary?" Captain Levi asked, breaking the silence I had just been desperately trying to keep intact.
I stayed silent as my brain tried it's hardest to formulate a response. It was difficult to think straight when your captain was staring you down. I looked down, breaking eye contact so I wouldn't feel as If I just got caught doing something I wasn't supposed to- which is about to happen if I don't speak up.
