The crackling of the flames from the fire warmed up my skin, sending heatwaves through me. I had a small resting smile on my face, appreciating the company of my friends. We all sat around a fire outside HQ, talking to each other, telling stories, anything friends do.
"Potatoes for sure" Sasha said, making me realize I had zoned out of the conversation. But Sasha brining up food out of random wasn't unusual.
"My favorite food has got to be omelet" Jean added in, brining my attention to the subject we were speaking about. Favorite food.
I never had a favorite food, I would just eat what I was given.
"My mother used to always make them for me.." Jean then spoke again, following up on his last statement. My lips pressed to each other, and I acknowledged the envious feeling seeping into me at his words.
It was no secret to most people that I suffered from amnesia. I never thought it mattered since I preferred to live in the present moment, but it's easy to say that when I don't have any traumatic memories on my back to haunt me like most people do here. Hanji told me that she assumes my memory loss could be my brain naturally forgetting trauma I went though. And even though she may be right, I just don't see what could be so traumatizing that it leads me to be missing a huge chunk of memories.
"my favorite food.." Eren spoke, his dramatic tone rising in his voice per usual, he stood up, "TITANS"
Jean clapped obnoxiously.
"Hilarious. We get it, you're a titan shifter" Jean mockingly said, leaning forward to get closer to the dancing flames. Eren snapped his head in Jeans direction, balling his hands into fists.
"Jealous?" Eren taunted, causing Jean to stand up too.
"Maybe!" Jean blurted, causing loud fits of laughter to escape Connie and Sasha's mouths. This laughter spread to everyone, including myself. Jean and Eren's friendship was complicated, yet humorous in some ways.
"okay okay" Sasha cooled down through the laughter, causing everyone else to slowly silence, "let's play who's most likely to"
"Oh yes I love that game!" Connie said in response to her proposal, bouncing in his seat excitedly.
"How do you play?" Krista asked, suddenly an elbow behind placed on her shoulder slightly pushing her. It was Ymir, leaning against her.
"basically someone says 'who's most likely to...' and then we all point at who we think it is" she said to her, voice sounding cocky as ever.
"ooh, that sounds fun! who's going first?" she clasped her hands together elegantly, looking around then stopping her eyes on me, "Marina, you haven't spoken much. How about you start?"
Everyone's eyes landed on me encouragingly, so I thought about it for a moment.
"okay, who's most likely to..." I put a finger to my lips in thought, then giggled as an idea came to my head, "who's most likely to be a lightweight"
Everyone immediately pointed their fingers, most of them on the more innocent people like Krista and Armin. Eren and Jean pointed at each other. Armin and Krista funnily enough looked around still unsure on who to point at. I pointed at Krista.
