Yandere Breath of the Wild + Age of Calamity X Reader Headcanons

(AOC) [Love Triangle] {BOTW Reader} Link and Zelda

Requested: Nah, I just thought it would be fun! Also, it's Feb. 13 when I'm posting this, so happy nearly Valentine's day!
Summary: Basically, this is an AU where in BOTW, Link dies, probably from the Shrine of Resurrection failing for one reason or another. So instead of Link freeing all the Divine Beasts and beating Ganon, you, the reader, take his place. In the AOC story, when Sidon, Teba, Yunobo, and Riju are sent back in time to save the Champions, you are sent back as well to save Link.

Heads up, I'm not that in tune with the whole Zelda lore, all I know is that Link and Zelda get reincarnated a bunch of times to beat Ganon, so I apologize in advance if I get anything wrong.

* ✨ backstory time ✨

* I imagine that, after Link's death, people start giving up.

* I mean, the hero was the only one who could wield the Sword that Seals the Darkness, and without that sword, what hope do they have?

* Not you, though.

* You're determined to save your home and protect it from any danger possible.

* You train your body every day, pushing it to its limits and beyond, getting stronger and stronger and refusing to stop until your body is begging you to.

* Eventually, you start journeying the world. Your body and mind improve each day, and eventually, you go from helping travelers fight of Bokoblins to saving villages from Lynels.

* Of course, your efforts do not go unnoticed.

* One day, you visit the Shrine of Resurrection to pay respects to the fallen hero, when you notice the entrance is open.

* Curiosity gets the better of you, and you wander in, finding the Sheika Slate in the process.

* From then on, you basically go in the same journey as Link. Zelda guides you throughout your journey, you learn how to use the Sheikah Slate, you free the Divine Beasts, you're worthy of the Master Sword, the whole shabang.

* Now, let's say that after Ganon has been defeated, you can finally relax. You form a bond with Zelda and all the others who have helped you tame the Divine Beasts, and you think you can finally rest easy knowing your home is safe from Ganon, right? Wrong.

* Out if nowhere, you suddenly see a portal open up. You're cautious at first, of course, until you see two blond Hylians facing off against bokoblins.

* You don't recognize them immediately, until you notice that one of them looks exactly like the princess.

* Looking closer, you finally notice the lady gripping a Sheikah Slate, and the man wielding the Master Sword.

* Are those- no, they couldn't be...

* They are! The knight and the princess! Link and Zelda! But how?

* Your body moves on its own when you see one of the bokoblins sneaking up on the princess.

* Both Link and Zelda were beyond bewildered when they see a portal suddenly open up, and their confusion only escalated when a mysterious figure rushed out of it.

* The confusion only increased when you unsheathed what seemed to be the Master Sword and rushed past the princess, slicing a bokoblin in half.

* You've earned quite a few stares, until you suddenly bark at the knights to get back to fighting.

* Your skills are phenomenal, and at one point you use a Remote Bomb on a whole crowd of bokoblins, confirming that the Sheikah Slate attached to your hip was definately a real one.
