Y/n's POV
It had been a week since Minho and I had tried to get into section three. We had gone back there the day after and the day after that and the stupid griever was still standing guard.

We had sent Rohan and Justin to section three and for them it was safe and griever free. When they got back they reported nothing unusual or any secret passageways or openings.

I had almost completely ditched my job as a med-jack and traded it for a position as a runner. This week has been nothing but constant maze and everything we tried didn't work.

We tried going the long way around, we tried climbing the walls over into section three, we had sent every runner to section three on different days they had no griever troubles and Minho tried going by himself but it wouldn't let him in or me in.

I was sitting on a bench at the edge of the deadheads tying up my shoes getting ready for another attempt at getting into section three when Alby walked over and sat down next to me.

"Hey Alby, what's up" I asked.

"I've got some news" Alby said getting straight to business instead of returning my greeting.
"Minho and I think you should have a break from running for a little bit" Alby said.

"What?!, Alby no I need be out there what if something changes" I say getting defensive. They can't take this away from me.

"Y/n you have been spending every second worrying and thinking about the maze. It's been a week with no progress you are having a break you need it".

I sighed heavily with defeat knowing Alby was right. I looked up from the ground and looked out towards the doors just in time to see Minho and Ben run out. He left without even saying goodbye.

Time skip
Working back in the med-hut had made my day pretty easy going but if I'm being honest healing people all day has become boring. The fact I could help someone in pain used to make me feel full and safe but now waiting around all day to come to someone's rescue had me anxious and missing the adrenaline that came with being a runner.

I waited around all day anticipating the return of my friends. Alby's idea to give me a break wasn't working and it was obvious to anyone and everyone that I was off in a world of my thoughts.

I had a builder sitting on the cot rolling his wrist around. He hissed in pain when I put a bit more pressure on it.

"It's sprained" I said looking over his shoulder out the window towards the doors to the maze.
"Here put some ice on it" I sighed reaching across to the desk grabbing a cold ice cube without looking and holding it on his wrist.

"Y/n?" Jeff asked "That's a slice of lemon" He had a half cheeky half concerned smile on his face while he pointed to the boys wrist with indeed a large slice of yellow lemon on it.

"Oh gosh, sorry" I turned around flustered taking the lemon and plopping it into the sink.

Clint walk next to me and put a calming hand on my shoulder "I think a nap would do you good Y/n" he said slowly leading me to the door.

"Yea ok" I said nodding my head slowly "ok thanks guys".

I went to my room and laid down on the bed staring up to the open ceiling. Even though I was tired I couldn't close my eyes or drift off into sleep. I was stuck all alone with no way to help. My mind was surprisingly quiet and calm but still no sleep.

MINHO's POV
I came back from the maze. The run today felt wired without Y/n there but I knew it was the best for her to have a break from the maze and all the stress that comes with it.

I went to my room grabbed a towel and a change of clothes. I wanted to freshen up before seeing Y/n this afternoon. I walked through the deadheads finding an empty and relatively hidden pond.

When I had cleaned up I checked the med-hut but Y/n wasn't there. Jeff said she had taken a nap about an hour and a half ago and he hadn't seen her since.

I chucked my dirty clothes and towel in my room before quietly opening Y/n's door. She lay there looking comfy and peaceful. Her hair sprawled over the pillow and the deep blue sleeping top on.

I smiled closing the door behind myself, taking off my shirt and joining her for my own much needed nap.

This was pretty boring but it's the calm before the storm. Thomas is about to join us and stuff everything up.
