Today was Valentines Day and it was supposed to be the day of love and roses and couples that got together and kissed under fireworks. Instead of doing all that, I was just going to hangout with Carlos. He was Camilo's twin, but just a lot more flirtatious. A lot of the girls in the village had warned me for him being known as a player, but I couldn't help but falling in love with him. Not like I would actually tell him that.
I knocked on the door as everyone rushed to open the door, hoping it would be their dates. Dolores was waiting for Mariano, Bruno was waiting for (as rumor has it) his girlfriend, Isabela was going to have a galentines with some of her friends and Mirabel opened the door for people just for the fun of it.
"Oh y/n! Carlos has been waiting for you." Mirabel teased.
"He has? That's a first." I smiled as I walked into casita.
"Doubt that." Isabela whispered.
"Hey Carlos!" I exclaimed as he jumped at the sound of my voice.
"Y/n! Hello." He winked at me.
Every time Carlos and I hung out with each other he'd always wink at me when saying hi and would be that type of flirtatious boy. Like he was to practically every girl. My friends said he treated my differently, he was probably just trying to get more girlfriends.
"What you up to?" I asked.
"Talking to you." He said sarcastically.
"Haha so funny." I said back.
"C'mon let's go to the river. I wanna show you something." Carlos smiled as he took my hand.
"Good luck Carlos!" Camilo called.
I looked back at Camilo on the top floor as he started to giggle.
"What's he talking about-?" I asked.
"Erm- nothing. He's just being the dumbass that he is." Carlos responded as he ran with me to the river.
"So, what are we doing here?" I asked as I looked at the flowing river.
"I don't know, I just wanted to get out of the house. Somewhere quiet with no people, besides you." He whispered the last part.
We both looked at each other, catching at what he had just said. Besides you. That would be stuck inside my head for quiet a while. The torture of liking your best friend..that was real pain to the mind.
"Well, we could always get food from town square. Just skip pass the carts of roses." I winked.
He smirked, moving his head so he could get the hair out of his face, "We can always take the food."
I pointed my finger at him and smiled, "Now that is something we do not do."
"I said take not steal y/n. Such a big difference." He rolled his eyes smiling.
I laughed, "What? We both know what you meant Carlos."
He groaned, "Ughh you're so boring!"
"You wanna know what's boring?" I asked like it was challenge accepted.
He looked at me, "What?"
