SOMEWHERE ELSE

Jisung let out a sigh of relief as he continued to sprinkle cold water onto his face, occasionally checking himself out on the mirror in front of him. He leaned onto the sink, letting the water run, water dripping from his damp bangs. Keen eyes scanning through the tiled walls, one of the bathroom stalls opens wide, and Chenle walks out.

It was silent, nothing even a wordless action spoken loud between them. Chenle stood beside the taller boy, turning on the faucet to wash his hands as well, a deep thought stuck in his mind.

Seraphine. The image of Sera flashed before his eyes, his jaw clenching and his hands gripped onto the edge of the sink tighter.

Jisung, seeing this action, eyes him cautiously. "You okay?"

Chenle peered up, his head still hung low as his eyes stared ominously at himself. In his view, it was different. He wasn't looking at himself from a bathroom mirror rather he was looking at himself from a broken mirror inside an old padded cell. Chills ran down his spine and he shook his head, letting go of the sink, finding himself back inside the bathroom. He notices Jisung's stare from the reflection, causing him to laugh awkwardly.

"I'm okay..." he trailed off, watching as Jisung leave the bathroom. He sighed, glancing back at the mirror. "You're here for one thing, Chenle. One thing. Mess this up," he stared back at himself intently, "and they'll kill you."

As he walked out of the bathroom and head back to the training center, he took notice of the people that passed by him. He was waiting for the right time, but how could he when he felt like he was being monitored.

Do they know? Probably.

"You okay, Chenle?" The said boy breaks away from his daydream, shaking his head to realize that Jisung was already in front of them and they were both back inside the training center. From the corner of his eye, he could see Sera sitting by one of the benches with a black-haired boy he came to know as Renjun beside her.

Monitored, huh. Chenle thought before heading towards Jisung, offering to teach him more about the blasters and how to aim. It wasn't long until Jisung understood how to use the blasters perfectly earning him a bullseye. The lab rats who were watching from the sidelines applauded for him, congratulating and gave him a thumbs up.

Donghyuck raised a brow, "Not bad." He commented, his gaze set on Chenle, "You're not a bad teacher."

That earned an offended scoff from the latter. "And why would I be a bad teacher?"
