It was getting close to the end of the work day when Zoey approached my desk. "I just sent you an email," she said. "One of the people I had asked to make changes to their game got back to me with the revisions and I think it's ready to go now."

"Okay," I said. "I'll send them the contract options." I clicked on my email and opened her message.

"I know Chet has a game tonight," Zoey went on, "so it can wait until Monday if you need to leave on time."

I glanced at the clock. Sending the different contract options to the new creator probably would put me after hours, but it wouldn't be that long.

"Chet has an away game tonight," I said. "So I don't need to go to the stadium."

"I know," Zoey said, "but I also know you are going to Nate and Nat's place to watch the game."

I smiled. "I won't be late to that. I want to get this sent off sooner rather than later. Thanks for bringing it to my attention."

She nodded. While she walked away she said, "And Chet's going to win tonight."

My smile widened. Zoey, like most if not all of my employees, had started following Chet's soccer team once they found out about him.

I read through Zoey's email before pulling up the standard email I had made about the contract options.

Zoey and David said goodbye as they left. I was now alone in the office. I changed the information in the email that needed to be changed such as the creator's name, the name of the project. This new creator's game was a card game.

"You're still here," Nate said as he came into the office.

"Almost ready to go," I said. "I just need to finish up this email."

"We're the last ones here," Nate said. "The warehouse workers have all left and I made sure it's all locked up."

"Thank you," I said.

He waited for me while I finished the email. I made sure the office was locked behind us as we walked out to our cars.

"Anything particular you want for dinner?" Nate asked.

"No," I said. "Whatever is fine."

"See you in a bit," he said.

"Bye." We got in our cars and pulled out of the parking lot. I went back to the apartment and was greeted by an excited Goldie.

"Hi, girl," I said. "Did you miss me?" She gave a little bark. I smiled and patted the top of her head. I took her out to the fenced in area where she could run around for a bit. The air was getting colder and crisper as the days went by. The leaves on the trees were starting to change to bright yellows, oranges and reds. The MLS playoffs would be soon. Chet's team had earned their place in the playoffs already. Even if they lost every game from now to the playoffs - which wasn't likely - they'd still make it.

Bully, the french bulldog, and his owner came out while we were there. I let Goldie stay out a little longer so she could play with Bully.

We made our way straight to the car afterwards since there was no reason for me to go back into the apartment.

Nat greeted us warmly when we got to her house. Goldie ran around her legs a few times until Nat bent down to pet her. I was immediately greeted by the smell of cooking steaks. I hadn't realized I was hungry until then. My stomach growled loudly. Nat smiled so I knew she had heard, but she kept her attention on Goldie sparing me the embarrassment.
