Adronitis; The frustration with how long it takes to really know someone.

"Come to my house?" River asks the minute he gets into my car.

"Can I ask you how practice went first?" I ask with a slight chuckle.

It's Monday which is also his first day of basketball practice, and you wouldn't believe how excited he was for it.

Now, I'm not sure if he is even good at it but I hope he is considering his face lights up everytime he talks about it.

He turns in the seat and faces me as I start to make our way to his house. "I mean I'm still not fully in shape like how I was last season, but the first practice went really good." He explains, a smile starting to form on his lips.

"That's good, what did you do?" If I'm being completely honest, I know nothing about Basketball but if it means I get to hear him talk, I'm all ears.

"We just did some warmups, drills, and stuff like that. The coach also figured out who's playing in the first game."

"Yeah, and are you?"

"Hell yeah, I've only been benched once and it was because I got into a fight, and I haven't been benched since then. It's horrible." He explains.

"That's good," I nod. "When's your first game."

"Friday."

"Already?" I ask. Today was their first day of practice, I don't understand how they have a game at the end of the week already.

"Yep."

He's silent for a moment, the music now louder than before because no one's talking. I glance over and he's fidgeting with his fingers while slightly biting his lip.

He's either waiting to ask me something, tell me something, or he's simply just fidgeting.

I don't say anything, waiting for him to say it on his own because now I definitely know he wants to say something.

Out of my peripheral vision I see him turn his head towards me but then he turns away again and awkwardly rubs the back of his neck.

I almost chuckle at how nervous he's being because usually he just says what he wants to say.

"I- Uhm," He clears his throat. "Would yo- do you- Jesus Christ." He mumbles.

My lips twitch in amusement as I try to bite back a smile.

He takes a deep breath in, "Would you like to come to my game, and maybe wear my jersey?" He says the last part so quietly I almost didn't hear it.

"What was that?" I ask but in return I only get a glare.

"Would you like to come to my game and maybe wear my jersey?" He asks, saying it very clearly.

"Awe, is someone nervous?" I tease.

His ears and cheeks go a slight pink and I'm kind of shocked I made him blush considering he's the one that always makes me blush.
