Cingulomania; a strong desire to hold a person in your arms.

It's Christmas and for once I'm excited for it. The plan for today is to have breakfast and do Christmas with just my mom and I and then later the whole friend group is going to exchange gifts at my house.

My mom already woke me up and brought me downstairs with the delicious smell of pancakes and bacon. Once I'm downstairs I take a seat at the table and my mom places our plates in front of us along with each of a us a glass of milk.

Call me weird but I love milk.

My mom made the average breakfast items, pancakes, bacon and eggs. I only like eggs sometimes and today is one of those days.

Once we're both done eating, I take both of our plates and rinse them off in the sink before placing them in the dishwasher.

My mom makes her way to the living room to move the gifts out and I run up to my room to grab the gifts I got for her.

I place her couple small gifts on the coffee table in front of the recliner she's sitting in and I sit on the couch.

"You can open yours first." I tell her as I point to her gifts.

"You didn't have to get me anything." That's what every mom says so I ignore it and watch as she opens her gift.

The first one she opens up is a pair of earrings that have her birth stone in the middle. I never know what to get her but she likes jewelry and it always works out.

The next one she opens brings tears because it's a heart necklace and then heart pendant is a locket and when you open it up there's a picture of Jay and I when we were kids in the middle.

She gets up and hugs me as tears stream down her face, "this is the greasiest thing anyone could ever get me. Thank you."

"I would give you the world if I could." I tell her.

It's true.

My mom is the best mom on this planet and I don't know where I would be or what I would be doing without her.

She tells me to open my gifts now and I'm kind of excited.

The first present I open is a new pair of headphones. She got me some perfume and some more journals along with some pens, followed by a new blanket and some other little fun things she thought I would like.

"Thank you, mom." I give her a hug and we take our things to our room and heads to the store to shop for ingredient for Christmas dinner.

Me: Come over when you're done with your Christmas, I'm bored.

Knight😛: Already here.

I make my way downstairs and open the door for him. He's holding something in his hand but it's covered in foil so I can't tell what it is.

"What is that?" I point to the mysterious plate as I close the door behind him and he makes his way to the kitchen.

"Cookies that my mom baked so we know they are good." He places them on the counter and I make my way back upstairs with him following.

He tosses his bag on the floor and jumps into my bed like a big starfish so I jump on top of him.

We bounce a few times and he groans in response. I roll to the side and he rolls on his side to look at me.

"Hi."

"Hi."

We simply stare at each other for a few more minutes before he breaks our calm silence, "You know that feeling when you look at pets and because they're so cute you just want to squish them?"

"Yes."

"Sometimes I look at you and want to do that to you."

What.

I slowly inch away from him to the point where I'm at the edge of the bed before he breaks out into a fit of laughter. "Calm down, I'm not actually going to."

"I know you're not, because I am first." I jump onto him and we start play fighting until I knock my head on the bed frame.

"Motherfucker, ow."

River tries not to laugh but his whole body is convulsing so he can just let it out, "Baby, are you okay?"

I break out into a fit of laughter because he's laughing and it's nothing detramental so I'll live. "I'm okay."

"Here, I'll kiss it better for you." He grabs my head inbetween his hands and places a fat kiss on the spot where I hit it.

"That feels so much better, thank you."

"Good."

By now everyone is over at my house setting up for the gift exchange with putting out seats and blankets and placing gifts in the correct spots. My mom cooked an early dinner so we already ate which was the typical ham and sides. However, it was still good, don't get me wrong.

Once everything is set up we all take our respected seats and go around to start opening. Finn and Aspen got each other nerf guns and sling shots. The definition of platonic soulmates.

Kat got me a new journal and I got Beah a new makeup pallet she had been wanting and it made me realize that makeup is expensive.

Beah got Kat a couple of the books she wanted off her list and Finn and Aspen put their money together to get River a huge ass drawing set. I have never seen so many pencils and erasers in my entire life.

After everyone took time with their gifts we all set them aside and set up the living room to have a Christmas movie marathon starting with Christmas Vacation.

My mom went up to her room to have an early night since she was up so early in the morning and left us to ourselves, allowing everybody to stay over if they needed too.

About halfway during the movie a notification popped up on my phone and right then and there I knew I revived the best Christmas gift yet.

Unknown

Unknown: Ben is in jail.

I glanced over to the others to see them immersed into the movie and I tried to rack my brain on who could have texted me but I can't think of anyone.

I excused myself before heading upstairs to my mom's room to let her know the good news. Knocking on her door she tells me I can come in.

"What's up buttercup?"

"Ben is in jail."
