C.3: Flake

I was deep in thought thinking for a nickname that would make Killua regret calling me Dimples.

'I guess I'll figure it out soon.' I thought

Satotz continued with the next with all the examinees following behind.

The fog covered forest was making it a difficult task to follow Satotz. I felt Killua's presence near me but I couldn't quite see him.

"Killua, where are you?" I shouted

"I'm right here so stop shouting, Dimples." I glared at the nothingness in front of me.

"Hurry up Dimples or I will have no choice but to leave you behind." Killua said seriously.

I stumbled on some rocks almost losing my footing.

"So where are Gon and the others?" I frowned.

"Don't worry about them and come to me." I could imagine him rolling his beautiful blue eyes.

I blushed at what I just thought.

"How the hell am I supposed to know where you are genius?"

I heard him exhale faintly as I felt his hand grab mine. When his hand made contact with mine I felt this weird electricity run through my arm. Making my face warm up.

"Now let's go so we can catch up with Satotz." His hand was warm.

I could feel the heat on my face. Deciding that I didn't want anyone to see me like this I walked away. Under the tree I stood Leorio was lying unconsciously on the ground.

What was all that about? I've always been training so I never had physical contact with any boy. Well maybe killing them but not holding hands. Oh you get what I'm trying to say! This is all new to me. All this feelings are overwhelming.

I need to keep my mind clear or every second I trained would go to waste, and I did not lose all my life for nothing.

After calming down I looked for Killua and the others.

"Hey April." Gon smiled. I smiled at him warmly. He is always so happy. It's difficult to be gloomy around him. His happiness transfers to you.

We were being guided by Satotz to a warehouse looking house. On top of the huge doors there was a sign that said "Phase Two starts at noon". Everyone waited quietly as the suspense was slowly killed each and everyone of us.

We all heard a loud creaking noise.

The doors opened revealing a large fat man and a small woman. She emanated power even though she looked like a harmless woman.

She introduced herself and her companion as Gourmet Hunters.

Yeah, I remember father told me that Gourmet Hunters traveled the world looking for rare cuisine and exotic food.

My kind of people. It sure sounds good to be surrounded by food everyday but there's a path already awaiting me.

The large man's name is Buhara and the woman's name is Menchi.

They told us we had to cook them a meal that would satisfy both of them. Everyone sweat-dropped.

"My dish of choice will be... A whole roasted pig!" Buhara said. Everyone all ran as fast as they could looking for a pig.

I concentrated trying to take in my surroundings. Engulfing every sound and noise. Closing my eyes I felt the cold wind brush against my warm cheeks.

Then I heard it. I think it was pig. Opening my eyes I saw Gon hitting it on the head.

Wow he already found it's weak spot. Not bad. I looked around trying to find something to use as a weapon due that I left mine inside my backpack at the warehouse.

Then I spotted a stick. Yeah this will do. I think...

I jumped on top of the pig and hit it on the head. "I'm sorry Mr. Piggy." I hate making animals suffer. They don't deserve this.

I carried the pig back to the warehouse. He was heavy as fuck. I started roasting it and watched the others as they cooked their pigs.

What are they looking for in this dish? Then I saw Killua he looked cute trying to cook the pork. No. Think about something else...

A rock.

...

Why the hell my first thought of distraction is a rock. I'm twisted in the head.

I went back to slicing my pork and putting some salad near it for decor. Yes decor because I despise salad it sucks. It shouldn't be considered food.

Waiting for my turn I looked at my dish.

Now it was my turn, Menchi looked at it tasting a little bit of. Meanwhile, Buhara swallowed the whole thing.

This feels like I'm in one of those cooking TV shows.

"Lacks of flavor. Next!" My eye twitched. I wanted to kill her on the spot. What is wrong with her. I wasn't going to find salt and spices around a forest! Well sure if she wanted me to use poisonous plants then yeah I would have added flavor to the damn pork.

I calmed myself trying not to snap and cause havoc all around.

"Lacks of flavor." I mimicked her.

I saw Killua and smiled deviously at the thought of the nickname I made for him.

"Hey Flake, how did you do?" He frowned.

"Why are you calling me Flake?"

"Because you remind me of a snowflake, all cold but bea-... cute." Crap, Why was I going to say beautiful.

He looked away and blushed.

Did he just blush? Aww he looked so cute.

Then I heard Menchi's voice.

Thanks Menchi because it was starting to get embarrassing.

"You all have failed the Second phase because you lack of focus and are unwilling to experiment." She said.

Well sorry for not going to cooking camp before coming to the Hunter Exam.

We all were shocked. Some argued and some just stayed frozen in place. Also a minority cried babbling about being the deception of the family.

Moments later the Chairman's airship arrived. Why is he here? He only comes if a huge ordeal takes place.

Oh wait, she fucking failed all of us because she didn't like our food. Let's see what the chairman has to say.
