C.6: Lifeless

Previously...
We the Acciai's are monsters that can't be tamed. We follow our own rules, to no one we listen. Everyone around us is our prey. There's no person that can tame us, no hunter that can put us down. We are the living curse brought upon this world. We are the pawns of justice ready to take down everyone that stands in our way.'

But I feel like I know a hunter who is slowly taming the monster inside of me.

We arrived at our destination on top of a tower. We were in the middle of nowhere. Albeit, the nothingness surrounding us felt calming to me.

When we all dismounted the airship Beans started explaining.

"We are on top of Trick Tower. This is where you enter Phase Three. You have to reach the bottom of the tower in 72 hours, alive." What is is this...

We just stood there like idiots not knowing what we were supposed to do.

"Hey Flake got an idea on how to get to the bottom?"

"Um, not really but Tonpa has one, go ask him." I just rolled my eyes.

"Dimples I'm not kidding go and ask him..."

"Okay... If you wanted to get rid of me you could have told me directly." I mumbled.

"That's not wh-" he was interrupted by my shouting.

"TONPA! Where are you?"

Spotting him I walked towards him.

"What do you want!?" Tonpa said glaring at me.

"Geez, what did I do?" I pouted "Did you find an opening or entrance?"

"Tsk. No..." He said looking another direction.

Bingo! He knows how to get in.

"Go away I won't tell you." He said leaving me alone.

Oh... Okay then. I saw Killua inspecting the floor trying to push the tiles. What would he be doing?

I'm so stupid! Trapdoors! I was about to start looking when I fell through one.

Ouch! Butt landing isn't the best way to land a fall.

I was about to get up when somebody fell on top of me making me hit my head with the impact. I opened my eyes and found Kurapika.

"I'm sorry April!" He apologized sincerely.

"It's okay..." I said looking away.

Why am I blushing? I sat in a corner hiding my face when suddenly all of the others fell. I need to put these feelings aside because they are getting the best of me.

Also in addition, Tonpa fell too.

Why are the odds against me lately? I sighed and stood up.

On top of a small table there was a television screen.

"The Path Of Majority Rules." I read out loud.

Oh so there are other paths? This one had to be the worst. What if we have different opinions?

Also we are screwed due that I'm the worst at making decisions.

The guys were waiting for me to finish putting my watch on but it seemed impossible.

"Why can't I put this on?" I sighed trying one last time.

I gave up and I was about to place it on the table when Kurapika approached me.

"Here let me help you." He said placing it on my hand.

He is such a great person. So kind and gentle.

I don't know what it's to love someone but I know that I care for a certain person deeply.

"Thanks." I mumbled embarrassed at how useless I've been lately.

Killua's POV

We fell into a trap door. When I landed I saw April sitting in a corner of the small room. It pained me looking her like that.

I took one of the watches putting it around my wrist.

Then, next to April was trying to put on the watch but it kept slipping off. I was about to ask her if she needed help when Kurapika went ahead of me and offered.

It pained me seeing him helping her. I don't know what's this that I'm feeling but it felt like my heart was being twisted and... I just can't explain it. I felt like a huge part of me just wants to shut down and never turn on again. I felt lifeless.

I looked at her slightly tinted cheeks. I wished that she would blush for me that way but I know she belongs to some other guy that is worth having her. One with a better heart. Clean and pure like her. I have to stop this right now. I can't keep feeling these unnecessary feelings inside of me. But how can I when I can't get her off my mind?
