The sun rose as morning quickly arrived. The sound of a distant rooster call alerted the two to awaken and start the day. Andy was the first to emerge from his sleeping bag and stood up to stretch his limbs and muscles.

"Mmmmmm...! Ahh...Good morning Dolce~!" he smiled cheerfully already full of energy, not realizing Dolce was still fast asleep and not willing to share his enthusiasm of being a morning person.

"Up and at em' sleepy head~! It's a new day with work and fun to be had~!"

"Nrgh..." was all Dolce could muster in bed. "He sound's like a overly excitable teacher hyping up their students for a boring day of school...Is he always like this...?" She threw the blankets over her head to shield herself from him and the sun's rays. Just a few more minutes of peace and quiet...

"Come on Dolce~!" Andy beamed YANKING the covers off her, nearly giving her a heart-attack. "Daylight's not going to last forever~! Let's GOOO...~!"

Oh yeah...he's definitely always like this...

"The sun just rose...What time is it anyway...?" she tiredly asked, pushing herself up.

"6:30 AM."

Dolce immediately slumped back down into bed, frowning.

Fuck.

Andy was completely oblivious to her annoyance as he grabbed his green turtleneck and white overalls from his chair and closet, making his way towards the door. "I'll leave you so you can change. I'll have breakfast ready in the meantime. See you soon~!" he waved as he left and closed the door behind him.

Dolce laid there in bed for several silent seconds before unwillingly pushing herself up and out of bed. "How can he be this happy so early in the morning...? Maybe I should consider eating him if he's always going to be like this..." she mumbled rubbing her tired eyes.

She started to become a bit more alert. Dolce looked down at her hands which were still furry and paw-like. She glanced over to his mirror propped up against the all and gazed at her current dog-like appearance.

"I'm still the same...Guess it wasn't a dream then...This is definitely going to take some getting used to..."

----------------------------

After changing her clothes and washing up, she met up with Andy at the dining table where he prepared bacon, eggs, bread, and potatoes for breakfast. Once they both finished eating, Andy slipped on his white work gloves and his bright red boots, now fully dressed for the day.

"Alright, you ready Dolce?" He asked turning to her.

"Ready as I'll ever be."

"Great! Let's get started."

----------------------------

One of the first tasks they needed to do was to chop up some firewood. The season would be changing soon to Winter so having extra wood for cooking and heating would be essential during this time. He had a spare axe in his toolshed which he kept as a back-up. It wasn't a large as the primary one he used but for a novice like Dolce, it would do just fine.

Andy had been doing this task for as long as he could remember so he was a master at it in speed, efficiency, and technique. In no time, the first batch of wood had been chopped through, now it was Dolce's turn.

Unlike him, Dolce had zero experience chopping wood, much less wielding an axe. The first few times she missed her swings, sometimes even knocking the logs off the block stump. Her other few attempts where she somehow managed to land a blow on the logs, she couldn't even cut it straight through, let alone even get it through the top cleanly.
