BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

Dolce's arm reached out from under her blanket that covered over her head and silenced the alarm clock on her nightstand that read "7:30 A.M." She sat up, stretching out her arms and yawned.

"Morning And-." she smiled then stopped, looking over the edge. There was no sign of Andy or his sleeping bag to be found.

Oh...

There was a slight look of sadness on her face. She had grown accustomed to waking up with Andy's cheerful greetings to start the day.

Sighing, Dolce pushed her hair out of her eyes. She looked down and took a moment to glance at her human hands.

I'm still me...Good to know.

She swung her legs off the bed and got up to open the blinds on the nearby window. It was still early, so there wasn't a lot of activity happening in the neighborhood minus the occasional dog walker passing by. Nonetheless, it was going to be a bright, sunny day.

So maybe it was all just a dream...A nice one...But now I gotta re-focus on my current life.

----------------------------

The sound of a toilet flushing resounded through the bathroom. The sink was turned on allowing the water to flow freely as Dolce stood before the mirror, hair a-mess, while brushing her teeth. After a few minutes of that, she spat out the water and toothpaste foam mix then ran a small towel under the water and proceeded to wash her face.

----------------------------

Once she got done washing up, she changed out of her pajamas back in her bedroom. Dolce slid on a striped-blue white, off-shoulder sleeve top over her black cami then buttoned up her light-blue denim pants. She pulled her hair free then looked at herself in the mirror. She parted her bangs, fixing them and straightened out her clothes.

There was a slight frown of disappointment as she stared at her rather "plain" appearance.

"Guess I should make time to update my wardrobe...Hm, can't believe I've reached a day where I miss going shopping with Margret and Melody like that time on Valentine's Day..." she weakly smiled to herself.

THUD-THUMP-!

The strange noise immediately caught Dolce's attention.

Thump-! Thump-! Thump!

Did someone break into the house?

Not taking any chances, Dolce ran to her nightstand and pulled out the drawer and grabbed the Glock-19 she kept for this very scenario. She undid the safety on it and made her way out the room.

----------------------------

Dolce carefully and quietly tip-toed her way down the corridor which felt longer than it should've due to the tenseness in the air.

She stopped, hearing that strange rummaging sound again. "Sounds like it's coming from the kitchen..." she noted. May God have mercy (or not) on the poor damned soul who dared to not only break into her house, but mooch off her food she bought with her hard-earned money!

Slowly, she crept towards the kitchen, gun at the ready. Learning how to remain calm and focused was one of the first things she was taught before learning how to shoot. Almost there now...
