Dolce blankly stared out the passenger window as Andrew slowed the car to a stop at the red light.
"I don't understand why we had to leave so soon! You know how hard it was to get those tickets when that place was first announced? We had to wait weeks for them to come out!" Isabella complained.
"There's always another chance to go back. I can tell that Center is going to be really popular so there's no way it's gonna shut down overnight." Louis assured.
"Urgh, but they cost us a lot! We had to save up for them! And there I was having the most relaxing experience in that 'Dream-Box...' That would probably be the best rest I'll ever get in my entire life..." she slumped in her seat.
Andrew ignored the siblings in the back and turned his head towards Dolce. "How are you feeling? A little better?"
Dolce remained silent, oblivious to his words. Her mind kept replaying that single moment back at the Innovation-Center where she finally saw the identity of that female-glitched figure—that being her dog-avatar self. The last three words echoed in her head:
"IT'S NOT REAL."
Andrew sighed, realizing he wasn't going to get any answers from her at the moment. He turned back to face the road. "If you want we can talk about it when we get home. We're almost there."
He stepped on the gas, the light now green.
----------------------------
The lock on the front door clicked open. Andrew and the others stepped into the house. "We're home~!" Andrew called.
Arthur and Thomas were the first to greet them. "You kids are home early. We didn't expect to see you guys back for a couple more hours." Arthur admitted.
"There goes setting up the 'Surprise' portion of the party..." Thomas muttered, a little miffed.
"Sorry Dad, we would've stayed out more but Dolce-" Isabella grumbled before being nudged by Louis from speaking any further.
"What's that? What was that about Dolce?" Kamryn stepped out from the kitchen, wearing an apron over her clothes.
"Is she not feeling well?" Thomas asked.
Kamryn went up to Dolce and placed her hand on her forehead. "Hmmm...Not exactly a fever but your head does feel a little warm. Why don't you go lie down, Dolce?"
"Yes, I think some rest will do her good." Thomas turned to Andrew. "Andrew, can you take Dolce back to her room?"
"Yes, sir." Andrew nodded. "Come on Dolce..." he wrapped his arm around her, gently leading her back to her room.
Kamryn glanced over at her children. "Louis, Isabella, I could use your help in the kitchen while I cut up some fruit."
----------------------------
Dolce was still a bit out of it when Andrew carefully laid her back on the bed. "Easy now..." He sat himself down next to her. "So do you want to tell me what's on your mind?"
