A/N: "**_**" are the present day Dolce's thoughts / narration.

"Little stray~ All on your own...Life became calamity~ wandering the empty streets~ Abandoned by your family~ You've no home to go back to~ All your friends have turned on you~ Peaceful days a fantasy...~"

"Made to wander all alone beneath the cold darkened midnight sky~ the Moon above is taunting you with dreams beyond your reach...Struggling against the breach...~Forever claw and bite your way through to the end until nothing's left by the end of days...~"

"Such a sad one little stray you...~"

"Forever crying to the empty moon...~ May there be peace for you beyond the blue...~"

It was a song that resonated with Dolce for as long as she could remember...

**Too bad I can't remember where I heard it...**

----------------------------

Dolce continued to visit the Eastwood family over the course of several weeks at every opportunity she could after school ended. The Eastwoods didn't mind surprisingly, in fact, they were more than happy to accommodate her. Even Dolce herself started to put on some weight, looking much healthier and more energetic as the weeks went by.

**This is the way it's supposed to be isn't it? "Normalcy...?"**

Dolce walked out the school entrance and stood by the lane where parents would drive through to pick-up their kids. She is quickly joined by Louis and Isabella who took a moment to say "Bye" to her friend Sam.

**There is a place I can escape to so I don't have to spend my afternoons locking myself away in my room...**

Kamryn soon pulls up in her mini-van and the three get inside, driving off to the Eastwood home.

**I don't have to worry about going home to a dirty house...**

The three work together on their homework in the tidy living-room as Kamryn brings out some fresh fruit for them to snack on.

Later on, Dolce and the Eastwoods are kept entertained by Thomas who puts on a show for them with his skilled guitar playing.

**I don't have to worry if I'm going to go to bed on an empty stomach...**

Kamryn hands Dolce a bag of fresh baked mini-muffins and a small thermos of soup.

Once at home in her room, Dolce munches on the muffins while reading a book with a flashlight in hand, and a blanket draped over her head.

**I don't have to seclude myself in my room to avoid the loud arguments going on downstairs...**

Dolce peeks over the top of the staircase in her house, flinching at the sounds of two people arguing in the kitchen downstairs.

**I don't have to run-away to hide in some dingy, rundown, shithole part of town at night only to be dragged back to that Hell-house by the police...**

Dolce climbs out of her bedroom window and down the large tree in the middle of a cold Winter night and runs off away from her house.

Later, the police find her hiding in an abandoned shed and she is brought back to her house and they are met with a obscured, glitchy shadowy figure (presented in her mind.)
