"That thing's been around since forever."
"It's been unused for quite some time. I wouldn't bother with it."
"It's pretty dark and scary...I wouldn't go in alone."
"It's off-limits now..."
That's how everyone saw the old run-down barn that lingered on the apple farm. No one really knew how it came to be or if it had ever been used. They didn't even know who or what even owned the darn thing. It was something put on the back-burner forgotten to time.
Dolce was aware of the old barn's presence the moment she started to live with Andy. They would always pass by it, but Andy never spoke to her about it.
Probably for the best...
Ever since their camp-out several nights before, something about the structure seemed to draw Dolce in on it in an unnatural sort of way that repulsed her, but, drove her curiosity wanting to know more about it.
"So if the barn's not being used by anyone, and if it's clear no one owns it currently, why not demolish it or remodel it for your guys's use?" Dolce asked.
"Too much work. Besides, where would we dump all the junk if we did?" Felix stated bluntly.
"It's a lot of work for one person to fix up that old thing. The only one who probably can do it would be Andy. He has the skills and equipment to do so, but there's only one of him." Margret pointed out.
"I...I rather not go back in there if I can help it..." Andy timidly admitted, avoiding eye contact.
"Why?" Dolce pressed.
"I can't remember exactly...But just a lot of 'bad feelings' thinking about it..."
"So what happened?" Dolce turned to the others, hoping to get an answer from them.
"Awhile ago we had Andy play some games with us after we hid his house keys in the barn." Melody recalled.
Dolce blankly stared at then all in disbelief.
"You're saying...you 'took' and 'hid,' Andy's house keys...Of all things..."
"Heh heh, yeah we did~!" Melody cheerfully replied, oblivious to her tone.
"And then afterwards, placed them in that one decrepit building that follows every stereotypical horror game/movie that screams to 'stay the frick out...?!'" Dolce was visibly seething now.
"Yep. Sounds about right." Felix quipped. They still didn't get it...
"HOW ARE ALL OF YOU NOT IN PRISON?!" Dolce exploded, causing them all to jump up in surprise. "Is there no such type of law-enforcement in this crazy place?!"
"Why are you shouting? Andy ended up finding them."
"And you all think that makes it all better?!"
"Dolce please, it's all in the past." Andy sheepishly smiled, trying to calm her down.
"Shaddup fruit-man! Why aren't YOU angrier about this?! Some friends you've got!" she snapped at him.
"It was a harmless prank, nothing more. As stated before, Andy emerged save and sound with them." Claus reminded her.
"Oh and I bet you went along with it too you possible bio-mechanical, head-floating, time-reading anomaly! Cause it doesn't sound like you did anything to stop or talk anyone else out of it! Also I don't think 'traumatizing' anyone is considered 'safe and sound!'"
