"Loyalty is a decision, a resolution of the soul."

The club was flooded with CSI and LAPD officers and detectives as they questioned each of us about the body. Everyone was in the middle of being interviewed except me, I was standing idly by since I was already spoken to - I was the first. So I was just leaning against the bar and waiting, since Ahsoka is the one who is supposed to drive me home - which she was more than excited about.

And there was also one individual here who was questioning Anakin himself — Obi-wan.

I secretly sent him a text as soon as I had a chance in the midst of the chaos, and he was more than delighted to use this as an opportunity to talk to Anakin face to face, for the first time.

Obi-Wan always liked to call himself the ghost of the operation because he knows there's a high chance that Anakin is aware that he's being sought after. But not once has Anakin seen the face behind the orchestration that is determined to bring him down. And now he has, although he's oblivious to it.

Obi-Wan arrived looking like a normal officer in uniform, and him and Anakin sat on one of the couches as Obi-Wan questioned him. Anakin was seated at the edge of the couch with his elbows on his knees, his hands hiding his mouth, and his gaze forward, as if he was in deep thought.

"And where were you around the time of death between two and three am yesterday morning?" Obi-Wan questioned with the slight narrowing of his eyes, the loathing in them was prominent. This has been his mark for years after all and to be this close to him; I'm sure is both thrilling and infuriating at the same time because he's so close, yet so far.

"Here, in my office." Anakin mumbled quietly, only moving his hands for a second to allow the words to flow through the air before he got back in the same position as before - looking distressed.

"At the scene of the crime, how convenient," Obi-Wan said with a hint of attitude to his tone as he wrote something down in a small notepad. Anakin caught on to his 'tude and side-eyed him with a vexed glare.

Wait a minute, did he say between two and three am? Fuck. Anakin was with me at that time with his head in a waste basket - meaning it couldn't have been him who put the body there. And he was absolutely wasted so I'm more than positive he couldn't have orchestrated a murder either; this had to be someone else. But who?

"What exactly is that supposed to mean?" Anakin retaliated, "You think I did it?" He asked with a raised voice.

Obi-Wan then smiled with a light shrug, "I'm just trying to gain all the facts Skywalker. But with your reputation, I wouldn't exactly put it past you."

Anakin looked ready to fight with his hands already balled into fists. Usually it takes more to provoke him, I've learned that he's a pretty level-headed guy, but with the day he's had, he's hanging on by the thinnest thread there is.

"It wasn't him," I blurted out without thinking and both their gazes were now on me. Obi-Wan gave me a surprised look and Anakin looked just as stunned, but also thankful.
