"If you love two people at the same time, choose the second. Because if you really loved the first one, you never would have fallen for the second."

I stared down at the buttermilk blueberry pancakes, picking at them with my fork without saying a single word as I somewhat listened to Ahsoka's numerous stories about her time in high school, and something else that had to do with her current college classes. I wish I could say I actually comprehended the words flowing from her, but really, I was off in my own world.

I was upset and I had every right to be. Connor shouldn't have acted the way he did and he should have been more understanding since we follow the same career paths. He reacted in a way that you would think I told him I actually cheated or killed his pet or something. He was being dramatic, overly dramatic and the next time I get a chance to speak to him I plan to tell him off since that wasn't an option I had earlier because I couldn't afford to make a scene.

I sighed as I stabbed the pancakes with a little too much aggression, imaging them as him, "Woah there, what did the pancakes do to you?" Ahsoka chuckled, and I looked up to meet her curious, yet amused gaze, "You alright?"

No, I want to put my husband in a ring and go a few rounds, "Yes," I answered, placing a smile on my face, "I just kind of zoned out I'm sorry, I didn't get much sleep last night." I dropped the fork down onto the plate. I didn't have much of an appetite either, but I didn't want to reject her invitation.

"Mm," She nodded with a hum as she cut into her omelet, "Homework?"

"Yeah," And in a way that wasn't totally a lie. I was doing homework, just not the kind she does, "And it's stressing me out." I added, which hopefully explains the aggressive stabbing of my poor breakfast.

She sighed as she set her utensils down and looked up, "I'm the same, school is exhausting and I wish Ani wasn't pushing it on me so much," She vented, folding her arms and placing them on the table, "If it were up to me I wouldn't be going, but he hardly leaves any room for debate."

"Have you tried talking to him about it?" I asked, despite knowing the answer, "And telling him it's not something you want to do?"

She nodded, breathing out another exhausted sigh, "Yes, but of course he brought our deceased mother into it, saying it was her wish. So he basically guilted me into it and now he's bribing me with the Range Rover."

"Deceased?" I said with fake astonishment that came off as genuine surprise, "I had no idea, I'm sorry to hear that."

She waved her hand, "It's fine it was years ago so I've had time to process and move on. Plus I was young so that made it easier for me to deal with," She picked up her utensils again and stabbed her fork into her already cut omelet, "Anakin on the other hand," She took a bite and spoke as she chewed hut covered her mouth with her hand, "He tries to appear put together in front of me — mostly," She swallowed," But I can still see that he's having a hard time with it, they were very close." Her eyes glossed over with sorrow and she quickly looked away as she cleared her throat - doing her best to compose herself.
