"You can't go back and change the beginning. But you can start where you are and change the ending."

Obi-Wan opened his mouth to speak, but I quickly brought my finger up to my lips to let him know that he needed to be silent, "Hey Jim," I said aloud, assuming that Anakin was listening. Obi-Wan furrowed his brows in confusion and I tapped my ear with the same finger and pointed towards where Anakin was as I mouthed, 'he's here', "Did you accidentally get my mail again?"
Realization crossed his features and he slowly nodded, "Yes I did," He said in a tone different from his usual one since Anakin had already heard his actual voice. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small envelope before holding it out to me. I knitted my brows at it, wondering what importance it held for him to personally deliver it instead of taking less of a risk and emailing it or sending someone else, "Just one this time it seems, sorry for the inconvenience," His voice trailed off when his eyes slid down to my neck.
I stiffened, knowing what it was that caught his attention and I awkwardly reached forward to grab the envelope from him, "No worries, thanks for bringing it," I tugged on the paper to take it from him, but he didn't let go.
I looked up into his eyes with my heart pounding so hard I could feel the vibrations beating against my ear drums. He remained looking content for a few moments and I was waiting for that burst of rage, but instead and much to my surprise, he smiled, "I see it's going well, I'm going to need an update about this," He whispered with a wink, "Of course, have a great rest of your night sweetheart." He said in a higher volume to to keep up our facade.
He finally let go and pointed at the envelope, before using sign language; telling me to keep it hidden from Anakin until he leaves. I nodded to show I understood, my sign language was a bit rough but I pieced together enough to get a gist of what he was saying.
He left shortly after and I gently closed the door with a sigh, "Everything okay?" I jumped with a small shriek and spun to face Anakin who was leaning against the wall with his body facing me. He chuckled at my reaction, "Sorry."
"It's okay," I said with a laugh as I caught my breath, "And yeah, everything is fine, just junk mail." I held up the white envelope that I noticed him eyeing. I pulled out the small drawer to the table I had next to the door and threw the letter inside with a bunch of magazines before closing it.
He nodded before drifting his eyes away from the drawer and looking at me, "Well, the cookies are almost ready if you saved any room for dessert." He held his hand out to me with a soft smile.
I accepted his hand and he interlocked his fingers with mine, "If they're the peanut butter ones, I'll risk the food coma." I said as we walked back into the kitchen, making him release a breathy laugh.
He was acting normal so I considered that a good sign, but I couldn't help but worry that he was able to see who was at the door before I closed it.

"I'll see you tomorrow?" Anakin said as he stepped out into the hallway and spun around to face me, his hands finding their way to my hips. He dug his fingers into my bare skin that was visible with my shirt riding up. His touch was cold, but comforting.
I nodded, looking up into his eyes and feeling my heart beat heavy against my ribcage, "I'll be at the club around four."
"I can pick you up at one and we can have lunch together?" He slid his right hand up my hip until he reached my face and gently brushed my hair behind my ear before caressing my cheek, "Only if you want to of course."
