I pulled into my driveway after a 24 hour shift. I was exhausted and I had lost two of my patients today. I just wanted to go inside, shower and go to bed.

When I finally made it inside I dropped my bags right by the door and walked straight into the bathroom. After my shower I wrapped a towel around my body and stepped out of the bathroom but bumped into a hard chest. I thankfully had my towel wrapped tightly around myself.

"Oh Ah" daryl started to say, his cheeks bright red. "Oh hi" I said standing their awkwardly. "I jus gotta piss" he said and I moved out of his way. "Sorry" I chuckled walking towards my room and closing the door behind me.

I quickly changed into a pair of shorts and a tee-shirt then stepped back out into the hall while daryl came out at the same time.

"You alright?" He asked, following me down the hall, "yeah just a bad day at work" I said shrugging and grabbing three beers out of the fridge. "Where's my dad?" I asked handing him a beer.

"Out back, I think he's grillin" he said and I nodded grabbing the pack of cigarettes and making my way out the patio door.

"Hi sweetheart" my dad said with a big smile on his face, no matter what this man always was smiling. Something I always needed after a long day.

"Hi" I said grabbing a cigarette and offering one to Daryl as well. "Thanks" he said taking it and putting it between his lips. He lit his then motioned toward mine.

"Thanks" I said and he took a seat on the stairs and I followed. "How was work?" My dad asked and I sighed. "Awful actually" I sighed leaned down rubbing my forehead a bit. "I lost two today... that's the fourth one this week" I frowned.

"M'sorry" daryl said softly from next to me. "Thank you" I nodded finishing my cigarette already and pulling out another.

"Daryl, you staying for dinner?" My dad asked and Daryl didn't say anything. "You're more than welcome to stay" he continued and Daryl replied with a "sure."

"You have some days off right?" My dad asked flipping whatever he was cooking and I nodded, "the next four, then I work another 24hr shift" I explained.

"Daryl, why don't you take her camping or something? Get her out of the house" I snapped my head towards my dad, sending him a small glare.

"Ahh, I mean I was gonna go huntin, you can join if ya'd like" Daryl shrugged. I lightly smiled, "that would be nice, if you don't mind me going?" I questioned.

"I'll come get ya tomorrow mornin, I'm jus going up to my uncle Les' cabin" he said and I nodded, "thank you"

After we all finished eating the dinner my dad cooked we all sat in the living room. My dad wanting us to watch a movie with him. Reluctantly he took the recliner so Daryl and I sat on opposite sides of the couch.

I grabbed the blanket off the back of the couch, I pulled it over myself, sitting sideways on the couch, facing Daryl and my legs were curled up, not wanting to take any of Daryl's space.

Daryl grabbed one of my ankles gently and pulled, motioning for me to scoot down, he lightly placed my feet across his lap and I laid comfortably across the couch.

The movie was boring so I couldn't help but fall asleep. I was woken up by rustling but I kept my eyes closed, still tired from falling asleep through the movie.

"Daryl, you don't have to do that" my dad said as I was scooped into his arms, "s,alright, I got her."

I heard my dad say something while I was almost drifting asleep again. I was placed into my bed and a blanket was placed over my body.

By the time he was out of my room, I was already asleep again.

Daryl's P.O.V
(This will probably be one of the only times we have a daryl pov)

I placed Madison lightly into her bed, pulling a blanket over her. I couldn't help but admire her for a second. She is undoubtedly the most beautiful woman I had ever laid my eye on.

She was one of the only ones apart from my family that I trusted.

When I stepped out of her room I walked through the kitchen, making sure to say goodbye to Jim.

"Do you like my daughter?" He asked, once I was in the living room. I furrowed my eyebrows at him for a second. Trying my hardest not to become angry. If I lashed out on this man, I would never forgive myself.

I avoided the question, "I'mma head home, thanks for dinner" I said turned to walk but Jim stopped me. "You didn't answer my question, son" he said.

I shrugged my shoulders, "she's too good for someone like me, I won't let myself be the reason she holds back" I said honestly and walked out of the house, making sure to lock the door behind me.

I unclenched my fist, feeling a little calmer now that I wasn't trapped in that house being asked more questions. I don't even know why I agreed to allow Maddy to go with me. I just couldn't say no to her.
