Chapter 5:Lost

"Artemis,what the?Scepthis where is Artemis!?"Kaida said.

Scepthis shrugged, so did Hunter.

"Where could he be?"Hunter asked.

"We have to find him,come on!"Kaida said.

Mounting Ryuu they headed to the forest.

(Artemis' point of view)

Great,I'm lost,now what am I gonna do?The orbs are with the others,why am I so unlucky?Or more importantly how am I this stupid?

I was wandering around endlessly,the trees all seemed the same,I could find a clearing or two but they just led to more trees,so much for a walk this was becoming a neverending maze.After a while,I had come across a little hut,it wasn't grand but it was a hut,I quietly knocked and with no response I waited outside.Then a man carrying wood passed by.

"Excuse me sir,do you know who lives here?"I asked.

"Why,that would be me,what would you want lad?"he asked.

"I'm lost I took a stroll in the forest and now I'm lost"I said.

"Have you been here before?"He asked.

I shook my head sidewards.

"You should know your way before coming here,what's your name?"he asked.

"Artemis"I said.

"Why Don't you come inside,I'm sure you're exhausted"he said,he let me in and he let me have some apples and tea.

We had talked for a while,he said his name was John and he lived here alone.He built a fire with the wood he collected,he was nice,he had a sense of humor.We talked about all sorts of topics, he had a good personality.After a few hours of rest and talking,he stood up and stretched,I followed.

"It's good to have someone to be with,now I'm sure I've wasted your time so I'll show where to go"he said.

He led me outside and told Me where to go.

"You walk straight, and when you find a tree with an X you turn right,there you'll find a clearing with dried mud,walk forward and count,once you reach a hundred steps,turn right,then there's a clearing with a hill,get up and look for the way out."He said,I nodded and said farewell.

I followed what he said,I had walked forward and saw a tree with an X-mark,either a bear or an axe,so I turned right.There was a clearing with dried mud,it was becoming midday so I sat down and rested,once I had energy,I walked and counted,when I reached a hundred,I turned right and there was a hill,making the climb,I stood on top and made out the place I began,I shouted in triumph.I owed that man my life.

We had flown across the entire forest but still no sign of Artemis.I had asked everyone if they saw him earlier,they were all asleep,then I had come across a man,chopping wood,humming while he was at it.

"Sir have you seen a boy,his name is Artemis?"I asked.

"Artemis,is he handsome,blonde hair,blue eyes?"he asked.

I nodded.

"Oh I've seen him,he was just with me,he got lost,he's a good lad,anyway you just fly until you see a clearing with a hill,he's probably there playing king of the world"he said,smirking.

"Thank you"I said,grinning.

We left the man quickly.

"We passed that clearing,come on!"Hunter said.

When we neared the clearing,I heard a shout,worried we all flew faster,then there he was.

(Artemis' point of view)

Behind me I heard wings flapping,I turned around and grinned,I found them.Kaida jumped off and hugged me,crying,when she broke free she punched me in the face.

"Ow!What was that for!?"I said,rubbing my cheek.

"That was for leaving without me! "She said.

I looked at Ruby, Scepthis and Hunter and they gave me disapproving looks.I ignored it and told them we should rest,it was already midday.We rested in a nearby cave,I stayed in the right side,sitting against the wall,Ruby and Ryuu were together,Kaida stayed with the dragons.

Hunter opted to stay beside me and Scepthis decided to hang off the ceiling like a bat,but as he took a step towards the area he was going to stay,the floor gave in and he fell to the floor,then the rest of the floor became cracking,it was about to collapse,I looked at Ruby who swiftly jumped over me protective,then the floor gave in...
