While the morning shift swiftly passes by, Bugs was able to do all of the necessary work with the cafe after he had filed in everyone's orders with their drinks by doing the everyday maintenance work of cleaning up the floors, tables and even the bathrooms, when needed.

Which of course, would normally be horrible to go through especially when a bunch of filthy people could potentially mess up the stalls or make the tables sticky with crumbs and gunk all over the ground.

But luckily for him, every one of the customers that had come in at the time, were either finished with their drinks or simply took it to go.

Except, of course, Daffy, who surprisedly remained sitting there in that same exact spot with his now cold latte, that he had really taken the time to sip on, happily.

His whole presence was really starting to annoy Bugs, fast.

Why is he still here?

Doesn't he have any other places to be?

It's like he's just purposely trying to peeve me off.

Bugs thought, irritated while walking over to the front counter so that he could refill the napkin dispensers.

A moment or so later, a phone then started to ring on as Daffy leaned over the table to pick up his cellphone and answered the call in a very cheery voice.

"Oh, hey Paul, what's up? Did you get a chance to talk to them about an audition?" Daffy asked, excitedly while waiting for an update out of his friend.

But unfortunately, the more time that it took to get his response, the more confused his facial expression was showing, which meant that the news was not so good after all.

"What? Tell me you're joking? Are you sure that they're not taking anyone else? Am I just not cut out for this gig or what?" Daffy asked his friend in with an obvious hurt tone while Bugs turned around in his direction and immediately stopped with the dispensers so that he can hear what was happening.

After Paul finished explaining everything to Daffy, he then nodded his head and understood.

".... yeah, okay. Well thanks anyways. I'll talk to you later then" Daffy said before he hung up the phone and laid his head down on the table with his arms propping up.

"Sigh. Now what am I going to do?" Daffy mumbled sadly while sipping a little at his cold latte and burying his forehead in his arms.

Bugs then suddenly felt bad about the whole thing and was even concerned for the poor guy.

Despite the messy mayhem that almost got him fired yesterday, it never removed the small fact that Daffy was simply in need of someone to talk to just like anyone else.

He then walked over back to the kitchen and decided to make another drink to help cheer him up a bit.

A few minutes later, Bugs walks back over to him with a bag of pastries and another cup of latte in his hands.

"Here. You looked like you could use another one of these and I even brought you some blueberry muffins too. Since those seem to be your favorite." Bugs said while he placed the treats on the table as Daffy immediately looked up and over at him with a puzzled expression.

"Thanks, but.... why are you being so nice to me all of a sudden?" Daffy asked, confused.

"Look, I've had a long day and it seems like you have too. So, can we just call it truce and start over?" Bugs asked with a reassuring smile, which would definitely convince anyone that he was actually trying to make amends with him.

Daffy then, quickly changed facial expression when he realized his sincerity and started to rub his neck with his hand in guilt.

"Yeah, I guess I really have gotten too carried away that time. I'm sorry for calling you out like that in front of your boss. I hope I didn't cause you too much trouble." Daffy said, awkwardly.

"It's not a problem. I figured that the old man was just simply giving me a warning that's all. He was never going to really fire me. Not unless of course, you decided to slip break your back, then we'd be definitely having some legal issues there." Bugs said with light sarcasm as Daffy started to grin brightly and laugh at his jokes.

"Haha. Well, you know what they say about first impressions; they can never be too perfect." Daffy said while Bugs's smile grew more warmly.

"That's true and I've certainly had my fair share of those coming from you. Alright, well I better get back to work then. I'll see you soon, hope your day gets better." Bugs said as he was about to leave until Daffy's hand quickly gripped lightly on his arm.

"W... wait! If you're not too busy or anything, would you like to take a break and sit down with me for a minute or so?" Daffy offered.

"Hmm... yeah, I guess I might be able to squeeze in an hour or two. Since there's not a lot of customers coming in and my co-workers haven't arrived yet." Bugs said as he sat down on a seat across from him at the table.

"So how long have you been working here?" Daffy asked, curiously.

"Oh, probably about 5 years and counting by now." Bugs stated with his shoulders shrugged up.

"Wow. And you never thought of quitting this place?" Daffy asked,

"Believe me, I've tried. But then I always end up cycling back to this place because there's not a lot of options out there for me. If I quit now, then I won't have any other jobs to take and I needed the money for my investments." Bugs explained.

"Man, that sounds pretty rough. But still, to be pretty fair though, I would still rather have this job any day. It does seem to be a much better one than the one I have now." Daffy pointed out.

"Oh yeah? What's it's like over there?" Bugs asked with a small chuckle under his tone.

"Horrible. The absolute worst. I have to scrub those plates like you wouldn't believe. And the fry grease from the patty meat, ugh. Gross. It's disgusting and the smell of it is just pure wrenching. Even my boss is terrible in every way. If you don't listen to what he says, he'll butcher you up and make raw meat stew out of you." Daffy complained in a mixture of terrified and disgusted tone.

"Haha. I guess we're not that much different then." Bugs said, laughing as the two spent the rest of the break talking for what seemed to be more than several hours at a time.

They were, at that point on, both very friendly towards one another which initiated in the start of a new friendship ahead of them.
