Love and Lattes

Chapter 14

Not long after several miles worth of walking, the two then came across an ice cream place called Salt & Straw and went inside to order.

While waiting in line, the two ponder over to rare combinational ice cream flavors for about 2 minutes before finally deciding on what to pick out for their delicious treat.

"Hmm, so many choices.... Daffy, what do you think you'll get for your scoop flavor?" Bugs asked curiously.

"Easy, freckled Mint chocolate chip. It's my all-time favorite as a kid. You?" Daffy replied.

"Carrot cake batter with praline hazelnuts." Bugs answered, quickly.

"Pfft! Bahaha!" Daffy bursted out with laughter, so much that his stomach was hurting from the irony of his choice.

"What?" Bugs asked rhetorically with a small chuckle.

"Nothing, it just sounds like something you would want to have constantly on a day-to-day basis." Daffy reminded with a giggle.

"Hey, now. There is nothing wrong with having carrots in your life." Bugs said with a silly tone and his tongue sticking out, playfully.

"Yeah, sure. But every day though? Come on man, you should try to lay off the carrots one day and eat something new for once. It's not going to kill you. I bet you always have carrots on your brain, like a craving addiction for you." Daffy teased, lightly.

"Haha. You should see how I am like with my coffee in the morning." Bugs said with a chuckle.

"Which is probably carrot flavored too, right?" Daffy asked, curiously.

"Maybe. But what proof do you have to say that it's so?" Bugs teased back as the two, who were now in front of the line, went ahead and ordered their flavors.

After everything was paid for, they walked over to a bench within a nearby park and sat down to eat their scoop of ice cream, that were both held onto in cups.

Once they got ahold of their spoons, the two dig into their ice cream with Daffy's face immediately perked up like a cute puppy at the edge of its heels.

"Mhmm." Daffy sounded in a muffle from his mouth, full of ice cream.

"Good, huh?" Bugs asked, rhetorically with a sweet smile.

"Yep! I'm totally going to get honey lavender though, next time. I bet it taste just as good as this one does" Daffy said excitedly.

"That sounds pretty good. I'll have to try it too, sometime." Bugs said right as Daffy quickly looked over at him in surprise.

"Oh, what's this? Is our Bugs no longer picky about his carrot obsession?" Daffy teased.

"We'll, I didn't say that. But you might be one to something there." Bugs said slyly with a wink.

"Haha" Daffy laughed as the two finished off their scoops before taking a nice long walk along the sidewalk area of the park.

And just in time too for the street nights and glistening stars to brighten out the beautiful darkened part of the night sky.

They talked for what seemed like to be a lifetime as the two open up more about themselves throughout their conversation.

At first it was about the favorite things in life about each other such as Daffy's undeniable interest in predictable cop shows.

Or Bugs classic interest in football games.
